The team and facilities here were excellent with my busted ankle. We got seen as quickly as possible and we were treated very well. A special mention to the physiotherapist Rochelle, she made us feel so cared for and was very professional.

Staff are great, extremely helpful and compassionate.
but I had An 11.15 appointment booked at the fracture clinic and I got to see a doctor at 3:30 There was standing room only in the waiting rooms most of the time.
The staff do the upmost best with what they have to work with, which is too many patients and not enough beds.

My recent visit to Albury Emergency was absolutely terrible. I had severe pain which turned out to be diverticulitis and they found a small mass on my pancreas.
Told I was to be admitted and after 7 hours was told I was being discharged with nowhere to go (we are travelling and hubby got told to go back to camp at start of emergency stay with our 2 dogs as I was to be admitted).
11.30pm on the streets in Albury given no pain meds to get me through to chemist in morning.
Lucky I got a lovely taxi driver who found me a motel for the night.
I was diagnosed by ct scan that day and it was not even explained the condition I have.
I know these places are very busy but where is their duty of care.

I recently had to endure the not so pleasant hospitality of the Albury emergency department with my 5 yr old daughter. She split her ear open at school, we initially went to Wodonga, as it was closest, the doctor we saw at Wodonga was great. he referred us to the ENT surgeon at Albury, they were aware we were coming over. Got to Albury and was put in the 'Fast Track' waiting area. We were seen 3 time by 2 different doctors
1 - an ENT registra who was lovely( didn't catch her name)
2- An ED Doctor that wanted to know what we were doing there because ENT didn't tell them anything.
3- different ENT registra, who was very average to say the least. I was given a gown for my daughter as she needed surgery to fix her ear, but told to change her in the waiting room.
by this time it was 2pm (first arrived at Wodonga at 9.30am, got to Albury at 12pm).
Then another doctor I assume ENT registra or paeds, not really sure, but she wanted to shift us out to the main waiting area, I refused as my daughter had an open wound, and we were told to come into fast track, she asked who told me that with a smart arse attitude, I relied with the triage nurse told me and on of the ENT registras told me to wait in here.. She went away to find out how much longer the wait was going to be, came back and said, not sure how much longer the wait will be, ur daughter has been pushed further down the list. I was not happy about that and said she is 5, and hasn't eaten since 7am, or had any fluids how much longer does a child have to wait, to be seen. By this time it was 4.30pm.. I waited another 30 mins and went to front desk to ask how much longer the wait was going to be for my daughter to be told Their focus is the main waiting room and the ambulance bay, because I'm in fast track waiting area I need to press a button to call a doctor.. Right ?, so I did exactly that.... No one came.. I managed to grab the attention of a doctor that came into speak to another patient, he was making excuses, and I stood my ground and said she has been waiting all day, I understand ENT has surgeries etc but emergencies over ride scheduled surgeries. So he went to find out, by this time it was 5pm.. The anaesthetist came and called us through, to then have to wait while the paperwork is finalised and put in her file, so she finally saw theatre at 5.45pm... No notes for pain relief were added to her file so they had no clue when she had pain relief or when her next dose was due. The theatre staff were amazing, recovery ward were amazing and the staff on the kids ward were great especially for our brief 30 minute stay on kids ward. She finally was able to eat something at 7.30pm

I made it very clear if I wasn't on my own I would have driven an hour n half to Wagga for them to treat my daughter but she was in serious agony and her hear was non stop bleeding.

1 star given as can no give minus.

Our health system is so very very broken!! and needs to be fixed.. re doing the hospital I don't think is fixing the issue!!

I had the absolute worst emergency room experience In my life. I got absolutely abused.
I have a needle phobia and they did not care at all and pretty much told me to get over it.
Then they hacked me up with a needle and told me it was my fault.
I asked for a new nurse to put my cannula in and they did it first try. They kept me in the waiting room for nearly 3 hours while I had an infection and had to keep my leg elevated which They took my wheelchair and told me lay across the waiting room chairs. I was in that much pain to a point that I tried to leave and they rushed out the front door to stop me because I could be DYING! and when I did get in
Then they stuck me at the back of short stay with a fridge and a bunch of unused medical equipment (pretty much a storage room) then it took them 40 minutes after pressing the nurse call button to come give me a bottle to urinate in which I gave up at that point so I ended up getting up with a broken Leg (after surgery three day prior) and dragging myself to the toilet using my IV to hold myself up….
I found out I had an infection in my body from a surgery they had done 4 days before and then they told me they were going to try and stick a needle under my kneecap (which I refused, it’s probably wasn’t the best idea to refuse but I couldn’t take them mistreating me anymore) the ER nurses were rude and nasty to not only me but a little boy and some other lady that was in the waiting room. I could hear them making fun of the lady in the waiting room
For freaking out over her sick child
The lady threatened to sue them because of their negligence.
Then I spent the night in the overflow unit (which felt a lot better than a storage room)

The only reason I have given them the stars I have is because the nurses that has taken care of me (the older gentleman, nurse Ryan) post surgery and the last experience I had here (which didn’t include the emergency room) were amazing. They accommodated me. They have helped me in every way they could.
They also understood my needle phobia….
The nurses here are absolutely amazing.
I don’t want to take anything away from the staff that cared from me post surgery because they were amazing but this is the worst emergency room in Australia easily
