Me and my spouse have worked with both doctors at Acts Medical Clinic and have had great experiences. We both feel heard, supported, and valued in our healthcare, which is a priceless feeling. We both know we're in good hands. Definitely recommend!

I called ACT Medical Clinic requesting to become a new patient to Dr. Robert Clayton. Front desk took all my insurance information including fact that my insurance is UMR through United Healthcare. Front desk said they will confirm with the doctor and get back with me. They called me back and asked me when I would like to come in.
I show up 30 minutes early for my scheduled appointment only to be casually told they don't take insurance with UMR. I asked why then was I called back to set an appointment? After digging into the nonsense, I was finally told it was doctor's decision not to take new patients with UMR insurance.
If this is the insensitivity and incompetence is respectful communication why would anyone want this doctor/ facility to care for your precious health?. The fault falls squarely on Dr. Clayton because he is the leader of his practice!

Dr Clayton is the best Physician I have had in the 30 years I have lived in North Carolina. His office demeanor is very friendly and caring. He always has the time to fully discuss any medical issues or questions I have.

I gave it 3 stars only because I liked the NP I had. The clinic as a whole, not so much. When I tried to get an appointment as a new patient, the receptionist I spoke to wasn't pleasant (first red flag). Expect to schedule appointments after your refills unexpectedly run out. My husband is a diabetic and his meds shouldn't be held hostage like that. I've NEVER had to do this with any other PC doctor, so this feels like I am being forced to come in and pay to get my prescriptions refilled. If you're looking to have referrals done for anything, you will need to call them to find out if they even made the referrals that was requested. 2 months later and I am still waiting. I made a call to find a new doctor elsewhere and hopefully I won't get the same experience there.

My family and I have been seeing Dr. Clayton for over 2 years. He and his staff are very professional and the quality of care is excellent! After my 5 yr old burned her hand on a curling iron we called Dr. Clayton's office and he said to bring her to him and by-pass the emergency room so we could get her care immediately. She is Autistic and Dr. Clayton was concerned that she get medical attention quickly and efficiently. He did just that!

I was interested in scheduling a new patient appointment bc I had read positive things about the providers here, however I couldn't get past Barbara as I scheduled an appointment. She spoke rudely to me from the beginning of the call, accused me of cursing (I most certainly did not) and even when I questioned why she spoke to me in such a rude tone, she only got even more rude. Unfortunately even if the providers are wonderful, I could not move forward with the appointment based on my experience with Barbara alone.

Me and my husband have been going to Dr Clayton for years. My husband is handicap.
I'm so disappointed in this office now. I feel Dr Clayton or his staff no longer cares about us. The last 2 times my husband have been the nurse puts him in the last room. It's like they don't want to deal with us anymore. Not only that our wait times have been 1 1/2 hrs to 2 hrs. All the staff had an attitude. The office manager that he has does not know what she's doing. If you go to this office and you think you're only going to pay a copay and be done with it, you're wrong. I've never seen a medical office like this one. The insurance I have and my husband have, once we pay a copay there's not supposed to be a balance. Every time my husband goes in, the office mgr says he has a balance. I told the mgr this is the only Drs office I've ever seen that a patient has a balance when they pay their copay up front. She tried to explain to me. I paid the balance just to shut her up, but that's just unacceptable to have a balance. One man came in and he had 1.06 balance. He had even paid that 1.06 like the week before and they billed him for it again. I have a friend that goes to Dr Clayton and it took twice for him to get his bill straightened out and he pays all of his up front cause he has no insurance. So you figure it out. The mgr does not know how to do the accounts. Also; when you go there's someone different sitting at the check in desk. Turn around at this office is big on office staff except the mgr. She needs to leave.
I know this is a long review but I don't want others going through what we've gone through. Needless to say; I think me and my husband will be looking for another doctor.
