I highly recommend Dr Ronak Patel.
I have been under his treatment since 2016, after attending A&E with severe eye pain and facial paralysis. He was the 4th Neurologist to see me in hospital and the only one able to diagnose me with Idiopathic Intercranial Hypertension.
Dr Patel is a highly dedicated and professional Neurologist.
Without his help I could of ended up blind, and also suffering from migraines. He is still dedicated to my treatment and well-being, 9 years later.
Thank you Ronak 🙏

I attended the Bruce clinic recently for a consultation with Dr Peter Park. The reception staff on the phone and in person were very friendly and helpful. Dr Park was excellent. He was very gentle and respectful, and explained everything very clearly and in good detail to me. I felt very much at ease with him and confident that he had investigated my condition thoroughly.

Dr Pal has nothing but my respect
He is very thorough and excellent at what he does
I have had 3 cervical vertebrae fused and dr Pal done my 4th.
He corrected my previous one that another surgeon did in Sydney and wove his magic on the one above it.
He explained to me what he did and visited me each day i was in hospital which is unheard of for a man with such a busy schedule
If you have any problems which fall into his field of expertise I couldn’t recommend dr Pal highly enough

My 3 year old daughter was referred here as an outpatient of the Canberra Hospital for an EEG after suffering a tonic clonic seizure with paralysis. When booking the appointment via phone with the Deakin location and on arrival there was no mention of a fee and that the service would not be bulk billed. I only found out there was a $300 fee after the test was completed. I contacted the practice manager Samantha who refused to provide a refund and bulk bill the service despite it being a bulk billable service. Samantha stated “All our reception staff advise our patients of the cost for the EEG $300 and a Medicare rebate of $119.25 more if you have reached your safety net.
Payment is made in full on the day and Medicare rebate is processed into your bank account that is registered with Medicare.
This is all mentioned at the time of booking the appointment along with arriving early to fill out paperwork and the location you will be having the test done at”

There has been no accountability taken for the practices error and staff’s lack of transparency. This practices customer service is absolutely appalling and I can see why they have less than favorable reviews left online. I unfortunately happened to check this after attending.

I shouldn’t have been surprised when the waiting area had dead bugs and a thick layer of dust in the window sill, leaves and dirt in a clearly unkept floor, stained furniture and a dirty tissue discarded in the corner of the bench seating.

Another patient also left after waiting more than half an hour for her appointment, when someone who was late for their appointment was taken in instead of herself at her appointment time. Myself having to wait close to an hour over my appointment time. Staff also taking complaints over the phone regarding the wait times to get through to the practice via phone.

I do not recommend this practice as they are extremely unprofessional and when I reached out to management in hope of resolving the issue I was met with a rude and unapologetic response.

“It is always a pleasure to have my appointment with Dr Patel - the reception desk is pleasant and efficient AND appointments are ON TIME.
Dr Patel has always been attentive, sympathetic, and aware of the broader issues and context of my situation.
Above all, he LISTENS, is patient, and very thorough.
I trust his judgment and feel he will always be my home base for any future treatment and re-assessment.
Thank you Dr Patel and your staff.”
February 2025 : Since writing the above, several years ago, I have continued to be under Dr Patel's care. I would like to fully endorse what I wrote then and add that since then Dr Patel has continued to refine my treatment so that my condition is stable and my social confidence greatly improved. It is a privilege to again recommend the quality of treatment I have received. With gratitude, Prof V. Hooker AM

After a traumatic head injury in 2018 it had led me with a fractured skull and chronic ongoing migraines/ nerve pain, I was then referred to many specialist that then led me to one of the best Neurologists in Canberra known as Dr Patel .
I am so relieved to have met Dr Patel; not only did he give me an explanation as to the likely cause of my chronic nerve pain and a realistic indicative time frame to heal, he actually listened to me, reviewed my history & previous test results and explained things in a incredibly detailed knowledgeable way that made complete sense.
He provided great alternatives for treatments to me with honesty and kindness and has been very thorough and knowledgeable when I've asked him questions; I always felt I was getting the best care and advice. The treatment he had provided had immensely changed my day to day life and although I’m not completely migraine free I am almost pain free which is amazing.

I am truly grateful for Dr Patel for going above and beyond, Thank you.

Before moving to the ACT I had seen the same Neurologist for a number of years. Naturally, I was reluctant to change to a new doctor. Dr. Ronak Patel at the ACT Neurology Centre took over my treatment. I have found him to be knowledgeable and caring. He listens to my concerns, discusses options and reviews any treatments at follow up appointments. My health issue has been well settled under his care. I have recommended him to a family member and some friends. I would not hesitate to recommend this practice to others who are seeking a reputable neurology service.
