I have had two experiences with this EAP support company. I was seeking the help of a professional for various deep seated issues. They started me off with a councilor who was not trained enough and spoke to me like a toddler. The next attempt we/I narrowed it down to a psychologist who “specialized” in the areas that I needed HOWEVER on the call for 15 minutes he proceeded to tell me that he could not help me and spoke to my like I was mentally challenged and kept explaining to me that he couldn’t help. I asked him for resources which he did not send and 15 minutes into call I had to leave as the conversation kept going around in circles about how he couldn’t help me in three sessions. Not once did he ask me if was ok or discuss my actual issues. Acacia contacted me afterwards via email and tried to direct me back to the original counselor.

I had an appointment booked with one of their counsellors today, the counsellor simply didn’t show up to the Zoom call. I received a call from someone else during the zoom saying that they were my new counsellor and could I join the new Zoom link they had sent me. I specifically selected the previous counsellor because of their profile information and background through our EAP service via my employer. Seems I am not the only one experiencing their unprofessionalism and disrespectful approach.

Used one of these services through my workplace. Worst counsellor/psychologist I have ever come across. Spoke to me like I was a child who knew nothing about the world, had no level of skill, care or sophistication. Should not be counselling human beings.

Reached out to these people through my employer (a multi-million dollar international corporate) and was bitterly disappointed. I was already bitter and disappointed - along with many other negative thoughts - and left the session feeling like a 3yo that had just had a growling from mum. The counselor was very unhelpful, no good at asking questions to draw me out, and told me off rather than trying to encourage me and lift me up. Very poor experience.

Very poor communication, they call you at random times which were never agreed on, then cancel your request with no further information, no follow up email, nothing, even after calling them 2-3 times to ask for clarification. I'll be referring these guys to the relative ombudsman
