My mum has been at Easton Park Unit for 2 months. Sadly there has been a few incidents that have taken place which we found to be disappointing.
1/Being left in a soiled nappy/pull up, for over two hours and after she had called for assistance.
2/When she requested assistance to be taken to the toilet to open her bowels, she was told to "do it in the nappy". This was very distressing to me when I found out.
3/Reluctance by some of the care staff in assisting my mother to activate her legs and to walk to the bathroom.
4/On at least two occasions the care worker displayed an unpleasant facial expression to make my mother wonder what she had done wrong. I do not expect staff to be happy and friendly all the time, but surely a caring smile would be appreciated, rather than to make my mother feel she is unwelcome.
Most of the incidents happened on the weekend. But there is some good staff as well.
I still wish to thank you and wish your organisation well. I did hear that other buildings/areas are quite nice but not EPU. I have moved her to another nursing home, where she is happy.

be prepared to wait at least 15 minutes after your rat test shows negative; you do the test outside under the winter elements (make sure you wear warm)

My mother in law was at Whiddon Easton Park for about 4 years until her recent death. I always found the staff from nursing to the kitchen staff extremely engaged and empathetic. In the final month she was sent back to Whiddon Easton Park for palliative care. Some of the staff members sat with her when we were running late in the morning. I will always be grateful f the care she received.

Recently I visited a family member at the Whiddon site at Glenfield. The rooms, open area and all other amenities were so clean. The place had a positive vibe and when you crossed a staff there always greeted you will a hello. Chris Mamarelis your aim to keep staff so patients get familiar with regular faces seems to be working very well. Congratulations Whiddon on a superb job that you all are doing.

My mum was in care in the Christy 1 Dementia Unit, Taylor House for just over two years. The staff were exceptional and I will forever be grateful for the quality of care she was given. To the RN’s, Carers, Kitchen Staff and Cleaners you provided the highest level of professionalism and I will forever be grateful that mum was cared for by you.

My mother spent about 13 years at this nursing home. She passed away at the age of 103 recently. She enjoyed her stay all throughout and always praised the good services offered by the staff. A big thank you to all the staff on behalf of our family.
