Thank you Glebe Family Medical Practice. Aside from a couple minor admin glitches, I’ve always had positive experiences here. The front desk team are friendly and happy to be of help. Dr Catherine Lyons and Dr Jane Tait are standouts. Dr Lyons has a wonderful bedside manner especially when discussing sensitive mental health matters. Her compassion and helpful advice made a very big difference in my life some years back. More recently, Dr Tait assisted me after I contracted a nasty virus. I was impressed by her approachability and the fact she carefully went through my patient history. She picked up on me being well overdue for a routine screening and organised it promptly. Both doctors were happy to answers my additional questions and provided me with in depth explanations. Thank you very much - I’m glad to know there are doctors like you both out there!

I have been seeing doctors here for many years and they have all been excellent- friendly, professional and up to date in their treatment. Even if your personal GP is booked up the practice staff will find a doctor to see you straight away if necessary. A first class medical centre.

Next Fall

I can only rate this practice as average.
The Bad: 1. Appointments are never on time or even close, ive waited as long as 90 mins after my scheduled time and never less than 20. 2. You can never see the same doctor twice, lots of turnover of staff. 3. Receptionists are not particularly friendly.
The Good: When i have seen a doctor i have received very good care.
So if you are prepared to be patient with your time, ignore the receptionist attitude and dont mind seeing different doctors then all good. If you do then go somewhere else.

Myself and my family have been going to Glebe Family Medical Practice for well over 25 years now. I’ve seen businesses come and go, tenants come and go - even the Post Office and Newsagency is gone, but Glebe Family Medical practice has remained. The level of service the team of staff, doctors and nurses have provided has always been great, year after year.

They have taken great care of myself, and my elderly parents, ensuring that age related care are checked as they’ve gotten older. I have seen first hand my parents ask indiscriminately the receptionists, nurses and doctors many unrelated questions - all of whom provide friendly and professional service. Be mindful that it’s not the doctors that take up the time but the patients with all their bodily concerns.

Tara - the receptionist manager has been there for years, along with Betty (retired manager). She and her team, is very familiar with many of the old and new patients over the decades, and has done an incredible job under difficult and challenging circumstances, day after day. She is always dealing with patients in a polite and professional manner, constantly on the phone with bookings, and dealing kindly to those with disabilities, cultural, or language barriers. She’s efficient with her duties and responsibilities - she has to be, in order to deal with the volumn of work. She has my full endorsement.

And while the practicing Doctors have come and gone over the years, they have all provide care professionally as expected. A stand out for me is Dr Vanessa Wood.

I have been a patient for many years now, and have seen several doctors over that time, and every single one has been fantastic. I recently had a not so great experience at different doctors office and it really made me appreciate just how caring and empathetic the doctors here are. They really take the time to listen and understand you, not rush you out the door like other places. Reception staff are lovely as well.

My first time visit a couple of weeks ago was a pleasant surprise. My doctor was running quite late so I felt reception should have informed me of that, but once I was in I found the doctor to be excellent. She was very thorough and understanding and took the time to take my full medical history and make a variety of recommendations to improve my health. I would highly recommend this practice.

I’ve been going to this practice for the past few years and I know that they are often busy but I always get top healthcare advice from Dr Wendy Thornthwaite and Dr Naomi Ginges as well as the nurse who is such a lovely woman. I would highly recommend this practice but keep in mind whenever booking an appointment that they often run behind schedule due to providing comprehensive advice to every single patient. They have a great system in place for telehealth appointments which means that you don’t even have to attend in person (for secondary appts and onwards).

Desk staff can be a bit hit and miss, but every doctor I've seen has been extremely helpful, knowledgeable and nice. Especial mention to Dr Tunnicliffe and Dr Ginges—they're amazing. It feels good to know they're there!
