I recently had a frustrating experience with a Telehealth service that left me feeling overlooked and dissatisfied. After waiting over half an hour for two separate appointments, I was told that I’d be charged over $90 with no Medicare rebate because I hadn’t visited the clinic in person in over a year. This felt incredibly unfair, especially since the practice actively promotes Telehealth to minimise illness spread. I made this appointment a month ago and would have appreciated this information before being in critical need of medication and having no choice but to proceed with the appointment.

To make matters worse, it seems like women’s health and mental health issues are barely addressed during in-person appointments anyway, including being asked if I’m ‘still depressed’ in appointments or like today, being asked if I’ve had a stroke or have ovarian cancer. Hopefully a GP would know this information usually.

The whole situation feels contradictory: encouraging virtual visits for safety while penalising patients for not coming in. Overall, this experience has left me questioning their commitment to genuinely supporting women’s health.

EDIT: just wanted to clarify based on the response, I absolutely booked my appointment a month in advance and unfortunately had no choice to cancel as the doctor never rang. Thus, a second one was made. Zero communication about the lack of rebate was given until the phone call finally occurred and I had no choice but to accept the cost.

Responding with my name is also a very odd choice and solidifies my decision not to return.

A medical service should not be seen as a business. This is just sad.

First time attending, saw Dr Jaya. Very thorough and most helpful. No problem arranging further general health checks and bloods. Issued me a script for antibiotics. Reception was fantastic too issued me a tablet to enter my details as a new patient. Friendly and welcoming. I attended on a public holiday late afternoon, so it was very quiet in reception. Very simple helpful process.

Having to change doctor. Never addressed my long cough. Always just refers to experts. Questioned my mersyndol use but was wrong and in fact the scrip was for double the dosage. Id been using ad little as possible.
As with most doctors in Albury, with the elderly, it's "why don't you just hurry up and die".

Attended this practice as a new patient. I am a FIFO worker who works away remotely for 2 wks at a time. I suffer from a chronic disease and wanted to get a health concern checked. I found the Dr very unsympathetic, cold, and dismissive of my concern. Gaslit me by saying it was only stress, and made me feel like it was all in my head. I left feeling unheard and upset. Reception was also very rude and abrupt. I felt like I was annoying/inconveniencing them by checking in. I do not recommend this practice

Here on holidays so was a little hesitant but the friendly, helpful and efficient staff made me feel comfortable and welcome. Answered all my questions and guided me in the right direction to deal with my issue. The pathology nurse was also helpful and very patient, (i have an issue with parting with my blood). The Dr Jayashree was very understanding and thorough. Thank you all

I was able to get a short notice appointment on a public holiday. The reception staff were very helpful and really went above and beyond to assist me. Dr Ali Saddiqui was great. Very thorough and took time to explain. Very happy with the treatment he provided.
