We were patients here for a long time, we moved away and hadn't been for 4 years. We called to make an appointment and they said that we are classified as new patients due to us being away for 4 years and they have closed their books. This is absolutely ridiculous, if you have been a long term patient somewhere before, how can you be classified as a new patient. That's disgusting. You take yours books and put them where the sun doesn't shine.

People on a pension/disability cannot contact them on a sunday to book an appointment. We are forced to pay for something that frankly, shouldnt cost us anything in this country anyway. We used to have bulk billing as a given in most medical centres. Since when has healthcare in this country become exclusively for profit? To siphon money out of people during a cost of living crisis? This is humiliating, and nauseating.

Recently had a wonderful experience here. Made a same-day appointment for my 5 week old son to be seen.
Dr Parinda Shah was on time, had lovely bedside manner, took our concerns seriously and gave us the reassurance we needed.
Parking on-site made transferring the baby easy and to top it off, our consult was bulk billed (infant consult).
We will definitely be back when/ if the need arises.

Absolutely atrocious service from the receptionists at Better Care Medical Centre. I went in on Friday 24/03 to see a Dr that I have seen numerous times. After seeing that Dr, I tried to put a claim through Medicare and the payment did not go through, which should not happen. I was informed by the receptionist (Emily) I dealt with that she will follow up the claim with Medicare on Monday 27/03 and by Tuesday afternoon 28/03, I still had not heard from Emily regarding this claim so I took it upon myself to contact Medicare myself and they advised there is absolutely no issues on their end and the claim should have gone through so if there’s any issues, it is on the providers end. I contacted Better Care Medical Centre today 29/03 and was quickly asked to hold, waited on hold for 10 minutes and then spoke to one receptionist who advised me that the receptionist (Emily) I needed to speak with was busy and she would contact me back, this was at 9:00am. At 12:00pm, I still hadn’t received a phone call, I called them back and they advised that Emily was still busy and she would give me a call back when she’s back to her desk. By 2:30pm, I had not received a phone call so I called them back on MY mobile number, which they must’ve written down and avoided answering because I waited for someone to answer my call for 15 minutes and then, I tried calling them off my partner’s mobile number and they answered straight away.. how ironic. I asked the receptionist if Emily was available and she put me through to her, but still waited another 5 minutes to speak with Emily. She advised me that she would contact Medicare straight away and call me back with an update (this was at 3:00pm). By 5:00pm, I had not received any update so I called the centre back and was informed that she did contact Medicare (which I don’t believe is true, otherwise she would have contacted me back with an update like she said she would) and she apparently informed them of the error code that came up when she tried to put the claim through but there was “nothing” they could do and that this would be investigated and a letter would be sent out to me from Medicare regarding the outcome of this issue and why the claim was not going through. Emily advised she would send me an email right there and then with the invoice for what I paid and the error code and I did not receive this. I had to call back the FOLLOWING day 30/03 to get this email sent to me so I could try and do what the medical centre couldn’t and put the claim through myself online.
Great doctors at this Medical Centre but they’d be doing the centre a great deal of help by hiring new and professional receptionists who are happy to help their customers.

Amazing staff!! First-class customer experience I have received in Wollongong in many years. Businesses in the region should take example from this place.

The girls go out of their way with: booking in last minute appointment requests, courtesy calls, general assistance, checking on patients while they wait etc. You really feel cared for. Their phone manner is suburb and on visiting they always have a smile on their face.

Selection of doctors are great - knowledgeable, thinking outside the box and there are at least 4-5 doctors available at one time so that means less waiting times.

My first pick for medical centre ?
