REVIEW FOR DR DAVID WANG:

I recently accompanied my spouse to Dr. David Wang at Myhealth Medical Centre for an assessment of her right upper limb paraesthesia. I want to be clear that this review is specifically about Dr. Wang’s care and not the facilities or the other staff at the practice.

Unfortunately, our experience with Dr. Wang was disappointing and frustrating. From the very start, he seemed dismissive and rushed through the consultation, giving us the impression that he wasn’t fully engaged. He was abrupt in his responses, and when we tried to explain the symptoms, we found ourselves having to repeat and clarify things multiple times. It wasn’t just medical terminology that seemed to cause confusion; Dr. Wang had trouble understanding even basic English terms, which made communication very challenging. On several occasions, we had to spell things out for him.

As a doctor myself, I made the ethical decision to seek a second opinion rather than referring my spouse for imaging directly. However, when we asked Dr. Wang about obtaining imaging for her shoulder and cervical spine, his response was dismissive and defensive. This left us feeling unheard and undervalued as patients.

While we aren’t accusing Dr. Wang of any malfeasance, his lack of professionalism, poor communication, and defensive attitude were concerning. It’s troubling to think that such a practitioner is allowed to continue practicing in Australia, especially when patients deserve to be treated with respect and competence.

Again, this review is meant to reflect our experience with Dr. Wang’s care, not the broader practice or staff, which we found to be otherwise accommodating. I hope this feedback helps highlight areas where improvement is needed.

Very disappointed with my experience at MyHealth Burwood Plaza today.

I had booked an appointment online and received a vague cancellation message earlier in the day, but it didn’t clearly state that the doctor would be unavailable. Since I was still able to rebook an earlier time with the same doctor online, I assumed it was just a system error or a time change.

Before arriving, I even tried calling the clinic to confirm — but no one answered the phone.

When I arrived for my appointment, I was told the doctor wasn’t at the clinic at all. I was not informed about this properly — no clear message, no call, nothing.

To make matters worse, the receptionist was quite rude and unhelpful. Instead of offering a proper explanation or support, I was told I’d have to pay a $40 walk-in fee to see someone else — even though I had a valid online appointment and was not at fault.

The whole experience was confusing, frustrating, and poorly managed. I wouldn’t recommend this clinic based on how they treat their patients.

My experience with this clinic has been consistently disappointing. Appointments are often delayed by 1 to 2 hours, yet no one contacts you to inform about the delays via text, email, or phone. On several occasions, I missed a Telehealth call due to their late scheduling. Even though I returned the call within 10 minutes and made efforts to contact them during that time, I was still charged a full consultation fee. The clinic seems more eager to charge fees than to provide patient-centered care. Additionally, the reception staff have been rude and lack basic communication skills when dealing with patients. Overall, the service feels unprofessional and lacks compassion. I hope they seriously consider improving their communication, scheduling practices, and staff training.”

Lovely medical centre. I’ve been going here basically since it opened. Dr Moloney is fabulous. I’ve seen the other doctors on occasion and they’re all great.

Excellent psychologist, Raja, great physios, even dieticians on staff. Amazing pathology team who deal with my wriggly veins without a hitch and there’s barely any wait times.

Their digital systems work seamlessly. I’ve had some iffy experiences with some of the reception staff, most are lovely but a couple are quite dismissive if not downright rude. Luckily there’s a self-check in function and the ladies I usually see at reception are lovely and professional. Highly recommend this practice!

I am very happy with Dr Ruwan. I have been using him for the past 12 months at Burwood Plaza. He’s caring, easy to speak to, a good listener, friendly. He gave me a good referral for a podiatrist surgeon. I will continue to use Dr Ruwan and I recommend him to others.

Dr. Monique Moloney was a very approachable doctor. She was able to guide me with what needs to be done with my boils. Overall my Myhealth Burwood Plaza check up was fast and efficient. I have my medication now, I hope it gets me better. Thank you for your superb service. ♥️

The practice manager was very proactive and helpful. Shortly after I submitted 1 star review complaining about an unfriendly receptionist. The practice manager called me to understand my situation, and followed up with lab to get my test result quickly, also organised a telephone call with my regular GP to explain the results for me. Thank you so much Ruby.

Original review: This one star rating is for some unfriendly receptionists. Very unhelpful over the phone, just hung up even they haven't found an answer/solution to my question. not compassionate at all. Unprofessional and unfriendly tone. Not trying to help. I've seen quite many comments about unfriendly receptionists, surprised not much improvement over time... (This does not apply to all receptionists, some of them are friendly and professional.)

Overall the experience at the centre is good. Some doctors are great, especially Dr Yuanying Peng and Dr Monique Moloney - very knowledgeable, patient and sharp.

Very Disappointing Experience

I had a very unpleasant experience during my recent visit. Despite having already booked and confirmed my appointment online, the receptionist insisted that I pay $40 to get book. When I tried to clarify the situation, the receptionist was rude and unhelpful, unable to provide proper guidance.

This experience was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. I will not be returning and do not recommend this place to others.
