I can't speak for other doctors here ,but there is an awful lot of similar reviews.
After several appointments with Sanjay Gawler following a severe ankle and spinal injury,
Subsequently suffering mental health problems form the long recovery process falling into deep depression
And reaching out for help,I can hand on heart say
There is no genuine care , empathy, compassion, or follow up of anything from this man,who has no desire to actually help ,just expects respect because they think there a doctor and above everyone else.
It's just a cash cow milking the system.
He was very condescending on all occasions.
I observed him belittle me to another doctor having a laugh because of my ailments as he walked down to collect me.
This was the last straw.
If you want to be treated like a human and listened too then avoid like the plague.
You bring shame on the Hippocratic oath you took.
Hopefully you never fall of your perch...

After having a skin cancer removed from my dr of 6 years, she quickly said the name of the cancer and nothing else. I had to enquire about follow up - after the stitches were removed, I was given no follow up. Nothing. Not told how long to use wound care or how to care for it. Nothing. The wound dressing they gave lasted almost a week due to my hypervigilence but when it fell off, I left it off as the nurse had actually said don't cover it with any additional wound dressing over the one given, as you need to watch it in case the cancer comes back. I took this to mean just use this dressing until it comes off. But I shouldn't have to guess - the follow up should be clear, non-prompted and thorough.
The next day, my wound opened up.
I rang reception and the nurse said you'll have to come in tomorrow
Again it was left to me to ask and what do I do until then so it doesn't open any further. I was then told put more wound care strip's. I then requested that Dr Kat Richie call me to both explain the cancer and so I could put in a formal complaint
The chemist couldn't believe what I told her when I got there and said that is negligence.
I have still not heard from Dr Ritchie. I have put up with her talking only about herself in my medical appointments but this time it has resulted in utter negligence.
I have rang reception 4 times since and been told Kat will contact and they will send me an email with the complaints information

I am still waiting. It is now over a month since the cancer was removed.

I am utterly appalled.

Stop talking about yourself and pay attention to your patients. You literally talk non stop about yourself and patients are there to find out about their health. That way we don't have to be hypervigilent and ensure you're doing your job. Follow up - how long this will take to heal, how to care for it, what to do if the dressing fails off, what kind of cancer and how it operates and do i need to be concerned about it coming back. This is what you're paid for - to be a dr. Pretty simple stuff

And reception, send through the information you tell people you are going to send.

I had an IUD insertion done and through research POST procedure I realised I should have been provided with adequate pain relief. I was under 18 and the most painful experience I have ever endured. I think medical practices need to be held accountable for putting women through this without pain relief, we aren’t medieval times and I was never told pain relief was recommended or even an option. Prior to insertion I got told the pain would be like “a pinch” absolutely unacceptable and I hope in future you don’t treat other women the way you treated me.

I suggest anyone in Bendigo to find another doctor's office that puts your care first...While the administration staff is great - the level of health care and service with the doctors trusted with my care at Strathfieldsaye Primary Health was awful. They are not up to date with contemporary research for common medical conditions. They don't listen to you and don't consult with other specialists in their field. And they do not like it when you challenge them or ask for explanations on their prescribed treatment. It seems they are only interested in doing what easiest for them not what is in the best interest for their patients.They treated me as an uninformed idiot rather than an active participant in my my health care. So much for "patience-centred care". I encourage the doctors in this office to read the Victorian "Partnering in healthcare framework"... and implement some of the recommendations. Just because you are doctors working in a small town does not mean you have to be small-town doctors. You can do better.

had an appointment at 4 pm and didn’t realise the time i then had to race over and as soon as i got there they told me i was too late and they didn’t give me a card to tell me when it would be

Yeah look... I haven't had any dramas with this establishment and the staff there!
You don't normally have to wait too long. I've been there quite a few times over the years!
In terms of doctors, they are all pretty good but I like Kat and Dr. McAlpine.
Excellent location and a brilliant and necessary addition to Strathfieldsaye!

Useless don’t try and get an appointment faster than 2 weeks have been a patient here for a long time before strath was big can’t get an on the day as spent 14 mins on phone busy tone , couldn’t get one in advance do tomorrow. And now have gotten rid of after hours appointments 👎
