I work in aprox 30 aged care places a year as a tradie, I only spent 3 days here, but you pick up on the feel of a place quickly and it was very obvious straight away that this facility had a great vibe going on, probably the best I've seen. From the front counter and of course the amazing nurses, the kitchen staff and even the handyman, everyone was helpful and just happy and this was reflected in the residents as well. It was a very positive experience. So much so that I felt the need to share this and just to acknowledge the great work they are doing here. BB

I viewed, and read reviews and toured many age care facilities as I wanted the best for my parents, after all my research Altona gardens care community was my choice.
After a really positive time in respite care, we decided this was inFact the best place for my parents to go permanent in an age care facility..
This place is just like home and the staff go above and beyond to care for the residents, they are kind and caring and genuinely care for each individual.
However it was not meant to be as my father refused to stay as he didn’t want to leave his house, in turn meaning my mum too would need to retreat back home ..
In only a matter of weeks my parents needed to return to respite as my father needed to go into hospital and mum couldn’t stay at home alone with dementia..
It was at this point my father decided it was safer for mum with dementia to be in the age care and to my surprise decided it was the right place for them both.. ( Never give up as even stubborn elders can change their mind!)
Since this day, I’ve felt so satisfied that my both parents were happy to enter age care for better health and safe genuine care..
Now after a few months of being in care, my parents are settling in and Altona Gardens has proven to be better than the reviews I’ve read. The management and staff are dedicated to making my parents/ and other residents feel safe and at home. The staff genuinely care for each and every resident. I haven’t seen my parent’s happier in years. With endless activities, games, physio. suited to their age group and meaningful engagements with other residents.
I fully recommend this place for anyone interested in age care for themselves or elderly family members..

The staff at Altona Gardens Care Community are truly fabulous. They are so supportive of my Mum and treat her with care, respect and dignity. Michelle, the Director, is always supportive and gives every care to her team and the residents and still manages to find the time to support the families of the residents as well. Altona Gardens Care Community has been a fantastic choice for us. The care is exceptional, and the staff are genuinely compassionate and attentive. Sheila, the customer support coordinator, has been incredibly helpful, always has a warmth approach. Their Manager,Michell, is very supportive. My mum has spent several weeks at Altona Gardens for respite care and I'm very grateful for the safety and care they've provided; the staff are engaged and will always contact you if they need clarification or information and treat the residents with respect and patience. A special mention to Michelle and Leanne who are really lovely to deal with but also the nursing, meals, maintenance and personal care staff.
