I've been coming here for a while now and this surgery isn't the most friendliest of such. That part doesn't necessarily bother me too much but today I turn up as it's a walk-in practice and was turned down at 5.38pm when their closing time is 7pm. That's the first time that's ever happened to me, here or elsewhere. The lady staff member at the door said they don't accept any further patients when they have a long waiting period. Not sure that is legal to deny patients 1 hour and 22 minutes prior to their closing time. Anyway 1 star from me.

Have been a patient her for many years although I am now having to look for a new medical centre. The reception staff are incompetent and the office manager Christina is very rude. Very different to the staff they had a few years ago. On a number of occasions they have advised you cannot make and appointment to see a particular doctor and to just walk in. Then they advise that there is a wait time of over an hour and when you ask to put your name on the list they tell you you have to come in to put your name down then wait. So if you’re travelling over an hour to get to the doctors just to put your name down you have to wait an additional hour + just to be seen. No online booking system (which probably explains the extended wait times). On top of all of this they have been closing early without any prior notice online or on their website. Very very disappointing to see what was a good practise in the area be mismanaged. I had referred family and friends in the past of how good they were but I will now be needing to find an alternative.

On one occasion I saw a new doctor that I had never seen before with symptoms of a sore eye. I was told by the doctor to go directly to emergency. When I asked if I could just go to the optometrist I was told no that it is serious and to go to hospital. Thinking the worst I went to the hospital and waited 6 hours just to be told I had conjunctivitis.

I had a throat test done at this clinic and was told I would get the results in 2 days. After waiting the full 2 days, I called the clinic to inquire about my results, as my throat was getting worse and more painful. Unfortunately, it took an incredibly long time to even get in touch with the doctor. I was left feeling extremely frustrated and anxious, as I felt like I would never get the information I needed. The delay in receiving my results was far too long, and the lack of communication was unacceptable. I hope the clinic can improve their response times for future patients

Called to see Dr Lam for my son (he is great with child related issues) and was told to come in and will be able to see him immediately. I get there to have the receptionist tell me there’s over an hour wait after requesting Dr Lam again as mentioned on the phone, we wait for 40 minutes to be called by a totally different Doctor. We saw him anyways, only for him laugh when I told him about the issue my son had and laughed at photos which is awful to do to a stressed mother. Reception are always rude, lack attention to detail and frankly do not care! Wait times are always ridiculous also, 40 minutes was a miracle considering we had just done a 2 hour stint last visit.

This medical centre is our local clinic. Yes, it does get busy and is typical of clinic wait times nowadays of 1+ hours wait. They bulk bill, and the receptionists are helpful and professional considering how busy the clinic gets.

Our preferred doctors is Dr Duong. He listens well, is thorough and willing to explain. No wonder there's quite a demand for his services!

Wait times are becoming ridiculous. Irrespective of whether you go on a Monday morning, a Wednesday afternoon, a Sunday lunchtime, it does not matter. Expect wait times of approx 2 hours. Try for a Telehealth phone consult, they will either ask you to come in to observe an issue that has already been observed one of the previous 3 times and 6 hours waiting in the practise, or you will miss a phone call whilst on the toilet, with no attempt of a recall and a voicemail message saying to call the reception desk that is no longer accepting incoming phone calls. Have been with this practise since i was a child (39 now) and it has gone down hill significantly.

Avoid.

Average waiting time for me has been 40 mins to 70 mins: reasonable. The doctors are competent & caring. The staff are helpful & efficient. I've been to Astley Clinic 12 times over 2022-24.

Yes, it's busy. I waited an hour. But the staff were friendly and when I saw a doctor they took a genuine interest in where I was at, didn't try to rubber stamp anything or rush me out the door, and I didn't pay a cent for being there. The chemist for my stuff (let's not go into that) was pretty much next door.

If I'm going to complain about that, then I'd probably also complain about things like the sky being too blue during the day, or resent the fact that I was only born with two hands which sometimes makes intermediate carpentry more challenging than if I had three. It's all good, bruh
