I would like to thank the doctors and nurses that worked on my husband last Thursday night 28th November. Without that team my husband would not be here, he had a major heart attack and they saved him, we are forever in their debt. We have a great hospital in yeppoon and we should show our appreciation to the hard working staff there. Again thank you so much.

As I am traveling and needed to see a doctor I decided to go to the hospital. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The triage nurse was extremely caring not only to me but to all those people she was caring for . The clinical nurse who I saw was also very caring, helpful and friendly. Thank you 👍

Visited ED this morning for a non-lifethreatening problem, due to not being able to get a GP appointment. Considering this, I was very happy with the whole experience. From the initial reception by the triage nurse, to the reception staff, X-ray department and the doctor, the way they treated me was very positive. Would highly recommend everyone I dealt with. Thank you.

I had the worst experience with Yeppoon Hospital today. I have Influenza A and I called this morning at 9:12am. I was told to come in as soon as possible to be seen. I arrived at the hospital at 9:40am. Lined up was seen by the triage nurse who was lovely, and asked to be seated at 10:15am. I waited in the very uncomfortable chair for almost 5hours and when I went up and told a nurse I was feeling dizzy and faint I was told to take Panadol and nurofen and please take a seat (12:30pm). After waiting for so long I approached the receptionist and told them I was leaving to go home as I was too sick to sit down any longer to be told, “You know where we are if you need to come back or try and see a GP.”
Thanks Queensland Health for caring about your patients.

The emergency room is a bit of a joke. They probably need to double the staff and beds but instead they're sending away sick patients, not because they don't need continued care, but just because they want the beds. They refuse care based on the poor state of the medical system, not on the symptoms of the patients.

I haven't needed a hospital stay my whole life until the past 18 months when I've been in and out of this hospital and 2 others. It seems to be a rollercoaster of being told its life threatening and you must have certain risky procedures or drugs , followed by being kicked out 5 minutes later by the next team. Its a complete and utter rollercoaster with extremes so high and low you feel like you're heads being screwed with.

What makes it worse is the medical staff themselves have no idea just how difficult care in hospitals is for a patient, or how many different extremes a patient is faced with each time they enter hospital. Or how the patient has to navigate it all. They think their opinion and they're assessment is the be all and end all, but the reality is every person and medical professional will have a different opinion and different attitude and it really just depends what staff member passes your way as to what advice your given.

If all medical staff had better understanding that their own understanding is limited in terms of the complete patient care, each different nurse , doctor, expertise , shift change , and start realising the communication is limited and a degree of Chinese medical whispers goes on, thats likely to have holes and discrepancies, they might have a little more understanding of the patient themselves.

And don't dare stand up for yourself or question anything or try to make your own decision, as you instantly get labelled and the talk that goes on takes a nose dive , based on ignorance of a patients experience and theyre own limited understanding, not based on the patient themselves or what they're dealing with.

Based on the reviews I was unsure wether to go this ER or another one further away from me. But it was the right decision to come here. Very nice staff, I waited maybe 5 minutes including filling out a form and another 5 minutes later the tick on my back was taken care of. I was relieved and thankful that everything went so smooth. Thank you!!!!
