Had a medical scare over the past 2 weeks. Was admitted to the Acute Care ward pretty quick and the after a swathe of CT and X-ray scans was moved to the Surgical ward. The teams in all the wards were AMAZING ! After a few days I was discharged, but was back in the next day with the same issue. I was in a bed in 5 minutes and already was planned for another CT. I was moved back to the Surgical Ward and have spent 4 days here. The Teams are FANTASTIC! I have had a bunch of tests and Dr’s and Nurses have been communicating with me excellently.

Basically couldn’t say a bad word against anyone, or anyone in this hospital. Brilliant, professional team.

Spent the day at Cairns Base Hospital today.
From triage, to admission, to treatment, the staff were all lovely. Kind, caring and efficient. Was there for 6 hours, blood tests, a cannula, two rounds intravenous antibiotics, tea, sandwiches and cake. It was like having a nice day out in bed.
Can't compliment them too highly. The wait time was minimal.

I've just had a stay at the hospital. The service and care of treatment by all nurses doctors a is of the best I've received. The polite staff the nurses are an absolute credit to their profession each and every one of them. They should be so proud of how I was treated and everyone around me. Thank you so much 💓

Hospital staff and nurses were amazing when my mum had a recent cardiac event.made her feel safe.checked on her regularly. Cardiac team are brilliant. Thankyou to all.shout out to Regan who made sure she had privacy and her dignity maintained

Big fan of the staff and facilities at Cairns Base Hospital. I have been in emergency twice and experienced great care, concern and diligence from the doctors to diagnose my issues. The sleep specialist probably saved my life, the endoscopy unit were friendly and efficient. Some of the buildings could do with a refurb, but the staff are excellent.

Sent here from Edmonton emergency care clinic. Saw the most rudest, unprofessional doctor, if you could call her that, I've ever met after waiting hours. Blonde, tattoos down arm. Wearing a visitor badge and working emergency department. She apologized for her disgusting unprofessional way i was spoken to, and said it was due to her being a bit rough and it being so busy in there? Not good enough, horrible person that should not be working there, no people skills and clearly not able to handle working under pressure, zero empathy and the worst doctor in Cairns, I hope for the sake of other patients she is just visiting. Fortunately the nurse that treated me before her was absolutely amazing. I would have given him 5 stars

I have had two different proceedures within the last 5 years at Cairns Base Hospital. I can not complement the staff enough! They are ALL extremely caring and professional. Exactly what you need when in a vunerable position.
