Had to wait 3 weeks to be able to book an appointment to see a Dermatologist. I managed to get one with Dr Carolina, she was super lovely and explained things very well. She gave me treatment options for my acne. After careful discussion, she was happy to prescribe accutane, as i thought that was the most appropriate option.

I had to get a blood test to check my liver function, which was situated next to the skin hospital. Once results were back, Dr Carolina was able to send me an e script for my medication. Unfortunately, i had to call up everyday to make sure staff could remind her to check my blood results, so that took about 3 days to get my script. Understandably, she is quite busy. The consult costed $380 including the $100 deposit, but there was a $84 rebate from medicare - which was processed automatic!

The car park at the skin hospital was full.. so there was street parking not far from the hospital. Nonetheless, i am quite satisfied from the experience at the skin hospital with Dr Carolina.

***Update
Second follow up appointment was $250 with $42 rebate.

Called to try to book an appointment and got placed on hold for 30 minutes (5 in the queue). When the receptionist finally talked to me, I told her to "hang on for a moment" as I was busy for a few seconds. The receptionist hung up after 10 seconds. If she had held for 3-5 more seconds, I would be able to talk. I rang up again and it placed me 6th in the queue

Edit: changed from 1 to 4 stars because I had a positive experience the next day

The receptionists are always friendly and helpful. But apart from that, Dr Clair Kho is incredibly thorough, consistently explaining an array of potential treatments in a digestible manner. I highly recommend.

I saw Dr Deshan 3 years ago to treat hyperpigmentation on my butts from the damage of fibroblast treatment. I was already depressed when I saw him due to most of the beauty clinics rejecting me for the treatment. Hence, I came to see a proper doctor. What he told me was pretty unprofessional and depressing. He just told me there is no way he could treat my hyperpigmentation and dismissed me with the referral letter to a psychologist for having too much obsession about my body. I felt like I was insulted by him when I came to see him for help. Anyway, long story short, I went to Merrylands Evolution Laser Clinic and tried RF surfacing laser and the hyperpigmentation just went away with just one treatment!!!!!!!!!! How could a dermatologist couldn't treat me and dismissed me with psychologist referral. What an insult to the patient!!!!!!!

My experience with Dr Bonita Choy was very pleasant a very thoughtful, caring and knowledgeable dermatologist who took time to really try to resolve and figure out what my skin condition was. I have nothing negative to say about my overall experience with this dermatologist, staff at the front desk and facility would 100% recommend Dr Bonita Choy and the skin hospital to all my friends and family as she was able to almost instantly look at my more rare condition and know what it was prior to testing. Although she thought she knew what it was she took the time to do skin biopsy’s to confirm her idea. She also suggested for me to do blood testing before using any of the medications to confirm that i would be safe before and has further made sure to do regular blood testing whilst using this medication. Dr Bonita Choy is a great doctor and wish all the best for her future.

AVOID this place! Especially Dr. Ebrahim Abdulla. Waited weeks and weeks for an appointment here, then paid close to $400 for the privilege of less than 5 mins time with this "specialist". My GP and other practitioners actually took the time to consider me as a human, and actually listened then looked at my skin issue. Dr. Abdulla didn;t even look closely at the condition, barely listened to the symptoms I described, then to top it all off... he prescribed me a basic steroid cream that MY GRANDMA's GP prescribes for her ear rash just a few days earlier. Weeks of waiting, close to $400 for less than 5 minutes, and I got LITERALLY NOTHING special (the steroid cream was a mere bandaid). Absolutely nothing I could not have gotten for free bulk billed at my local GP! What an arrogant individual, with a lack of empathy for others. Just here to make money and pay back his student loans, or his next Mercedes. AVOID this place and instead look for good GP's, early career, that actually still care about humans rather than profits and clients!
