Ive recently attended Family Doctors at Tuggerah, not my regular GP (as I couldn't get in to my normal GP) and I can't stop raving about how fantastic the receptionists are. They are the complete opposite to any other doctors I've been to. They are super lovely, friendly with smiley faces. I was in a lot of pain and they were able to get me laughing. I would come back just for them. One of the ladies, might be named Wendy? Didn't catch her name but I heard another patient say it. The other receptionist was Karen. You should be so proud to have them, and other clinics should be jealous they dont have them.
This was the 6th of Feb, at 3pm.

My mother fell and broke her hip just outside the practice. Dad ran in to ask for help, they refused. I called them to ask for help, they refused, saying they have no obligation or legal coverage to help people outside their practice (this is patently not true, look up duty of care). According to staff at the mall, this is how they react to ANYONE having ANY EMERGENCY outside their clinic doors. Ignore, don't care, let people suffer, seems like from other reviews they treat their patients the same way. If someone had a heart attack on their doorstep, they'd probably just watch them die. Absolutely disgusting attitude. Don't bother replying Karen (literally the mangers name), I've already reported you to RACGP, AHPRA, HCCC, HCCP, and the medical ombudsmen.
By the way, Karen, your response is a load of rubbish. As outlined in my email to you, Lowns v. Woods is the established case law that proves positive duty of care, and the AHPRA medical board code of conduct lists failure to render aid as a clear example of medical misconduct. Citing the privacy act here is completely irrelevant. Dont pretend to have empathy now just because this is publicly visible, you couldn't have sounded less interested on the phone yesterday while my mother was in danger.

Was in the waiting room and a gentleman came in and asked for help. His wife had fallen over in the car park and was in agony. He had called an ambulance but was told it was 20 minutes wait. He asked if a doctor or nurse could go to the car park with him and at least check if she was in any serious danger.

The receptionist refused any help and didn’t even see if a doctor was prepared to assist.

Not what you expect from a health professional.

This business really needs to replace their reception staff and admin. Going through the reviews, it is obvious that many people are upset with the receptionists but nothing has been done about them. We only come to this practice as it is convenient and some of the doctors are good. We made a booking 2 weeks in advance and also responded to the reminder message, showed up on time for the appointment then got refused by the receptionist as apparently the appointment was for another time. How ridiculous. This is not the first time we had drama with the admin at this place.

Time and time I have come to this practice and unfortunately maybe no more considering the doctors are fabulous and knowledgeable. I walked in this morning and greeted with "you're right?", patients entering this practice are a major inconvenience. Sometimes when they ignore you and don't acknowledge you, it's better, better than feeling like a hassle. The face of the practice is failing the actual treating doctors. Yuri and Colina are amazing doctors who deserve to be represented by better people. Being gentle and kind to people is not hard when you're in a customer service based role. Just be better.

I have been going to family Doctors at Tuggerah since they have opened the doors. I have nothing but respect for the doctors,nurses especially the receptionist. Sometimes they are very busy and can’t meet appointments but it’s not normally too long. The doctors know what there treating patients for and sometimes it may take a bit longer than usual. I’ve had to wait many times before, try getting your car fixed in a hurry, doesn’t work. Give these Drs a chance and you’ll never regret it. They are thorough and keep our needs first. Don’t get cranky with the receptionists, they are over loaded with phone calls and trying to talk to patients at the desk. Hard job. Can’t thank them enough for the years of work they’ve given me. Thanks guys

The reception staff are absolutely disgusting. They lie right in your face. I urgently needed an appointment for my 11 week old baby and I was only 5 minutes late to arrive and apparently the doctor already went to lunch. This is very hard to believe as I had an appointment booked in. I have a breastfeeding child so a little bit of consideration would he highly appreciated. I have been coming to the practice for a long time and I have never been seen by a gp on time. The earliest I got called in was about 35 mins after my appointment time. Sad to say that I will not be coming to this practice anymore after this experience. I cannot believe how medical staff can refuse to see an 11 week old baby who desperately needs to see a doctor. If I could give zero stars I would.
