"Love Thy Neighbour"

A heartfelt thank you to the team at the Swansea Medical Centre who took me in, just a random guy off the street with a busted finger in need of immediate care, and cleaned and dressed my wound. I'm old enough to remember when people helped each other simply because it was the right thing to do. In today's world of "not my problem", "our insurance doesn't cover that", and "I'm just following the rules", these ladies took a risk and acted with genuine compassion and generosity.

One of them encouraged me to visit the hospital in case of a fracture. I went, got a scan, and sure enough—there was one. The hospital took it from there. If I hadn't gone, I would've left a fractured finger untreated and likely paid the price for it..

I've left out names deliberately to avoid getting anyone in trouble, but you know who you are. Your kindness made a real difference, and I'll be sure to pay it forward.

Thank you.

The women behind the reception make me anxious, upset, and are generally unhelpful and mean. I've changed GPs because of how worked up I would get trying to book an appointment with reception. They make the process much more stressful than it needs to be, and don't have any compassion for people despite working at a medical practice. Customer service is a huge part of a reception job, it's surprising to see mature women be so incapable of a simple task. I would advise locals to look at Newcastle for a better GP practice, and kinder staff.
EDIT: The wait times are over an hour long at Swansea Medical as well.

This surgery is over booked. Can take two weeks to see a doctor. They will put you with who ever dr they want even when you ask for someone else (and have time to wait). So I needed another option because of how busy they are so I had my info copied to another surgery (Swansea channel drs).

Swansea medical centre of which I have been attending for 36 years then said I cannot attend their surgery anymore.

Why would they be allowed to dictate how I look after my own body.
Disgusting. Avoid if you can.

What is wrong with you. You're a receptionist. The patients are old and struggling, how do you have no compassion? What is wrong with you all? Why are you so mad?
Don't attend this medical practice. The way I watched the staff treat old, confused or anxious patients should be addressed as verbal abuse. You are a sick, sad woman if you can talk to people with that tone, attitude and language without feeling guilty. Please, go get a job where no one has to face the ignorant and immature attitude that you wear with pride.

The nurse there is rude and comes to the front desk and says to the receptionist that there is no appointment today for a doctor
The nurse is the rudest person I have ever met and has no people skills. I really wish that I didn’t have to take my client back there rude rude rude NURSE.

Lisa - receptionist is incredibly rude in person & on the phone! I witnessed her speaking VERY rudely to an elderly gentleman who had dementia & he was confused. I won’t be returning although I waited ages to see my old Dr who is fabulous! Lisa needs to be sacked or retrained in how to speak to people!
