I had an urgent need to find a nursing home for a friend returning to Australia with dementia.
Over the 3 years I’ve been visiting him, I’ve never doubted that I chose the right place.
Staff are angels and extremely kind and caring, often in very difficult situations. I visit at least once a week so I have had plenty of opportunities to observe his care and that of other residents.
The home is clean and the food is varied and good quality.
My special thanks go to Nurse Anita for her empathy and good hearted attitude to everything.

Mum went into age Care on 1 April 2025. She had advanced dementia and was recommended by the manager Karen at Bupa Bexley.

Since then mum’s care has been excellent. Although she is still finding it hard to settle the staff have been very caring and accepting of her situation. I am so confident of the work that’s been done to look after my mother who is 91 years of age?

I’m proud to say that I’m blessed to have found Bupa Aged Care in Ashfield. My Father has been a resident here for one year. I’m more than happy with the care and support given to him.
The staff are caring, compassionate, friendly, loving and respectful to all their patients, my father included. They go above and beyond their duty of care day in and day out.
The residents are treated like one big family, it’s humbling to see these beautiful caregivers caring for the vulnerable members of our community. I’m so happy here as I know my Dad is in excellent hands, and I’m at peace knowing his wellbeing is being respected and he is safe here.

My mum has been in care since February 2023. The staff are wonderful, friendly and always smiling. The office staff are so friendly and accommodating to my requests. When mum was to be admitted to the nursing home, I spent the whole day waiting but my mum refused to go from the hospital to the home. While I was waiting I was give coffee as well as biscuits. Later I was even served lunch which existed of battered fish, salad and chips. I asked why I was given this and the office staff member(James) said that they treat all family members as family. I was so caught up with emotional (being a very stressful day for me) that I have watery eyes. The care workers are so patient with my mother that they do everything to settle her down. I recommend the home to anyone looking for care for their parents or spouse. I give thanks and praises for all they do for all the residents. I am also given regular updates about my mum.

It has been extraordinarily hard having to place mum in respite care but I’ve had nothing but amazingly kind staff who work hard to care for often difficult patients. The garden is also a nice addition. Thank you Bupa Ashfield for caring for mum so well.

Very cramped small lounge room with not enough seats for residents. Unclean floors and surfaces including the mobile dining tables. Poor quality food not nutritionally balanced. Insufficient toilet ratios to resident numbers. Insufficient staff to manage dementia and behavioral issues leading to an unsafe environment and fear amoungst residents and visitors. Resident clothes and personal belongings constantly lost/stolen. Only ONE registered nurse on duty to care for over 60 residents located on two levels, from the afternoon until the next morning. My 95 year old father was a resident for 7 months. We recently moved him to another facility and we are all now so relieved, including dad.

I work nearby the Bupa Aged Care and today I heard something horrific. Someone screaming out loud for help. Literally "HELP ME, HELP ME".
I could clearly hear someone from the staff shouting back "SHUT UP" many times.

I wonder if I should have called the police.
