this group is conducting vaccinations for their staff at Wallsend Public Library...on Friday I was passing the bottom of the library steps on my way to the public bus stop...thinking that the library was open I stopped to read the sign on the stair rail...a young worker called out to me asking if I had an appointment...his tone was quite peremptory, but I made allowances for distance and masks...I replied "No I am just reading the sign."..he responded by saying "there is no need to be rude"...really surprised now...I said.."I am not being rude I am just answering your question"...he then started to verbally abuse me and I walked away to the bus stop...it has taken me a little while to find out who was conducting the vaccinations at the library but this is the group...I think that the staff would do well to remember that outside the library is public space and no-one needs to account for their presence...at all times in this exchange I was at the bottom of the steps and at least 10 metres away from anyone accessing the service...this was all the more distressing since this was a rare outing for me since the lockdowns have started...
