My recent 32-week scan experience with Radiology SA was extremely disappointing and emotionally distressing.

I had booked my scan for 9:00 AM and, despite arriving just 8 minutes late, I was made to wait nearly an hour. During this time, I had to hold a full bladder — which, being in my third trimester, was incredibly uncomfortable and difficult. I approached reception to ask how much longer it would take, and was told bluntly that I had to wait because I was late. I felt this was quite unfair and lacked compassion for my situation. Meanwhile, other patients who arrived after me were seen before me.

I was booked in for a 1 hour scan for taking measurements where I got my scan done within 10 mins and got pushed out early. When I was finally called in, the sonographer was cold and unwelcoming. As a first-time mother, I was hoping for a more supportive and engaging interaction — especially considering I had shared that my husband couldn’t attend and that I was feeling emotional. I even became tearful during the scan, but there was no acknowledgement or empathy shown.

After the scan, I asked if I could have some photos to share with my husband, but was told that no pictures are provided during the third trimester. However, my sister — who accompanied me — mentioned that she had received pictures at this stage in her own pregnancy. The sonographer then acted surprised and it seems like he had forgotten, before quickly taking and printing a few photos of just the baby’s head. It felt like an afterthought, not something meaningful.

Overall, what should have been a joyful and reassuring experience turned into an upsetting one. I left feeling unseen, unheard, and deeply disappointed. I hope Radiology SA can take this feedback seriously and consider how important empathy and communication are — especially when dealing with mothers. I will never recommend for patients to come here and get the ultrasound done.

This Radiology Sa in Marion is not suitable for babies.I went there but one of the receptionist not well behaved. Also the sonographer who did scanning my baby he dont know that how to behave with babies not even smile on his face to deal with the baby. So rude! I dont recommend Marion Centre for babies.

I am very impressed with the man who undertook my pelvic scan today. He was respectful and ensured that I didn’t feel uncomfortable or any pain. He explained the purpose and the details of the scan, which meant that nothing was unexpected or surprising for me. I also appreciated that a female was brought into the room as extra support and reassurance. Thank you for making my experience as pleasant as possible.

Visited today for 4th pregnancy scan. Can’t understand why their rating isn’t higher. Incredible team. Also reading some of the reviews, my doctor also requested bulk billed and this unfortunately wasn’t doable. However the staff were super respectful and private about it.

Firstly, the receptionist, Jane, was extraordinary. She was super efficient, friendly, professional and went out of her way to help me.

Although I was 20 minutes early for the scan, I was seen straight away by Macie, who is the kindest natured, honest and considerate Radiologist I’ve ever come across. I’ve had many scans in the past and have never been treated with such respect and kindness. I was a little nervous about an internal ultrasound but she was amazing.

Unlike my scans thus far for pregnancy, Macie also included me in the process. She explained each measurement of the baby so simply and allowed me to feel involved.

The bed in the ultrasound room was incredibly uncomfortable. It's a flat bed with no back incline whatsoever, which normally would be fine but as someone 28 weeks pregnant with twins who hasn't laid on her back for months, getting down and up was very difficult. I wasn't sure I'd even be able to get down onto it and had to stifle back tears thinking I'd made my husband take a day off of work to escort me to a clinic for nothing. My back became quite tender throughout the scan which was quite quick at 30 minutes when I was quoted an hour. I'm glad it was only 30 minutes because as much as I smiled through the discomfort, I missed out on seeing parts of the scan because I was just trying to manage my pain. The bed could be tilted but only as an entire flat surface, turning it into more of a slippery dip since it was a vinyl surface. I understand that pregnant women can be on their backs for a time for these kinds of scans, but my golly if it wouldn't have been better to have just an inch of incline at the hips to relieve that lower back pressure and also any worries that my babies were pressing on my vena cava. I've been having scans almost fortnightly at other Radiology SA clinics including Parkside and Tennyson and both of these clinics had much more supportive beds. I almost threw my husband to the ground clinging onto him to try and get up after the scan - Not that he cared but thank goodness he was there or I may still be a turtle on my back. The tech was aware I was struggling but there's obviously not a lot they can do if that's the beds management have provided (my own assumptions and not the opinion of the tech, just to be clear). My advice is to go to another radiology SA clinic if you have back pain, neck pain, a multiple pregnancy or are in your 3rd trimester.

Thank you very much for your warm welcoming atmosphere and very gentle services to all staffs here. Especially a big thank you to a sonographer Kallan. He was the best and so caring sonographer ever I met during my maternity life.

Don't book bone density for late in the afternoon. They cancelled appointment on 2 occasions on the day, after being booked 2 weeks ahead. Expected me to rearrange my day to come in earlier. I tried, but was a little late for the earlier appointment, but this was no good - no scan. Usually have a good experience with RSA, but to Radiology SA - you should not book times you are not going to honour. This would be a zero rating for bone density scanning. This is only mediated by previous positive experiences.

Very bad experience with them. The lady in 30s sitting on the reception was very rude. My appointment was 12:30 and I reached there 12:36 after 45 min drive, I m pregnant women. My bladder was totally full for my baby scanning. Even I can’t able to stand and lady very rudely just say I can’t to do anything u r 6 mints late. Even I keep requesting her but she was rudely saying “NO”. Never ever recommend this radiology to anyone. I wish I can give them ZERO star.
