Had 2 swabs and blood tests done on 21st May.
The Dr I saw was co-operative and helpful.
Told swab results would be texted to me same day. Not true.
The next day ( today) I phoned the practice ( Twice) and was told the swab results had not arrived. I get that.
However my blood tests had arrived.
I requested a copy of the results. The response: " only after a Dr has seen the results "
I then requested if I could have a printed copy of the results. The response was " the printed copy is black and white and poor quality "

I requested if I could have the results emailed to me AND get a printed , (poor quality black and white) copy. ( as my printer is not working).
The response ( by office manager ?) was :
I don't have time to double up on work. I said can one of the secretaries do it. Same response- "no time".
I asked if someone can ring me when the results arrive- was told I had to keep ringing back ....

And that, is why I gave you a ONE STAR Rating.
Poor service gets Poor Reviews.
It's not rocket science.

See you this afternoon when I come to pick up my results (hopefully).
If anyone wishes to discuss this matter I will make time.

The online booking, reminders & pre-appointment form are easy to navigate and are helpful. The receptionists are friendly and efficient. The waiting room is comfortable with plenty of seating. Dr Sima Vakili is excellent - she’s very approachable, takes her time, is knowledgable, thorough, uses reminder alerts for follow up reviews, and I don’t have to wait long for appointments. While she doesn’t bulk bill, I willingly pay the gap to have her as my GP.

Both gps I have seen here have been amazing and very responsive. Now see Dr Hugh Wall and he seems very considerate of health needs and understanding of my complex health situation. A great listener and just overall efficient, capable and great listener. Highly recommend him.

A little wait past appointment time, but not overly. BUT receptionist staff as always, welcoming and attentive to current patients needs. Professional in manner but still friendly and calm. Problems solved always courteously. My doctor really provided me with assurance that "we" could work on a plan that addresses my health dilemma and showed compassion for the health struggle I was facing. I was felt encouraged to think I could cope. Thank you.

I have been seeing Dr Vo at Merthyr Medical Centre for 10 years now and cannot fault the practice. Dr Vo is extremely knowledgeable, caring, approachable and an all round lovely person. The staff at the practice are all so lovely and they have a great system in place for bookings and appointment reminders.

I have NEVER heard nor seen rudeness from any of the receptionists in the 20-odd years of attending Merthyr Medical Centre. Recently I moved across town but there is no way I would change my medical arrangements. I have complete trust in my doctor who has proven to be efficient, understanding and approachable (and even humorous at times! ).

I have been visiting Merthyr Medical Centre for some time now. I highly recommend this clinic and Dr Leon Kondos is a great General Practitioner who has a profound knowledge of all kinds of diseases, their symptoms, and their treatments. They work day and night selflessly for society's good health. I am grateful for all the good care received from the staff and their support for the community is truly inspiring. Thank you so much.

Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with Dr. Fiona Fleming. I took my elderly mother to the clinic for a driver’s license medical assessment with the necessary forms from TMR. We were running late due to traffic and attempted to call ahead, but no one answered. Given that we’ve previously had to wait over 30 minutes for delayed appointments with doctors, I expected a bit more understanding.

Instead, Dr. Fleming was unhelpful and dismissive. Rather than offering constructive solutions, she advised us to see an optometrist and reschedule with her. While I acknowledge there may have been a booking miscommunication, her attitude was unnecessarily negative and lacked any compassion, especially considering my mother’s age ans situation.

When I went to reception to check out, Dr. Fleming continued making discouraging comments in front of us. She said things like, ā€œYou won’t find anyone available today,ā€ in reference to getting my mother’s vision checked—comments that felt more like roadblocks than support. I replied that I’d call around myself, and thankfully I was able to get an optometrist appointment that same afternoon. I also requested to see another Doctor and Dr.Fiona Fleming kept being dismissive and unkind. Stating that i won't be able to find a doctor available tomorrow either. I was extremely discriminated.

To make matters worse, the next day I received a call from the receptionist informing me that the new doctor I requested to see was uncomfortable proceeding—something that felt discriminatory and, frankly, connected to the earlier situation with Dr. Fleming.

The only positive in this experience was the receptionist, who was kind, empathetic, and professional throughout the ordeal. She acknowledged the treatment we received and did her best to assist.

I would not recommend seeing Dr. Fiona Fleming. In my experience, she did not demonstrate the duty of care or professionalism one would expect from a healthcare provider. I sincerely thank the receptionist for her kindness and support during a difficult situation.
