The nurses were fantastic. They were caring, understanding, patient and helped ease any anxiety over surgery. I stayed overnight to have my gall bladder removed. Food choices were good, room and bathroom were very clean. I would stay again if I ever need surgery.

Crap hospital, The hospital was six hours late getting me into surgery without explanation for that duration I was lined up in hall way like cattle in line at the slaughter yards. I booked and paid a private room six weeks ahead only to wake up in a share room. Complaints to the nurses fell on deaf ears. When I came too they had no dinner for me aside some microwave slop . I was so disgusted I checked myself out and slept in my car. The surgeon who operated on my shoulder botched it and was possibly working without insurance Dr Os. he was .
Lingaurd need to understand private patients pay top $$ and demand high quality care including private rooms. Why operate and overbook if you don't give us what we pay for?

Not the greatest experience. Advised of admission time at 5pm day prior, despite them saying a txt wouldarriveby 2pm. Arrived as requested at 10.45am, fasting, but surgery didn't take place until 2.30pm with zero communication. I called to find out patient status at 4pm, said they didn't know, and I should call back in half an hour. My husband was discharged with 3 flimsy pieces of paper, none which specified pain management, although they prescribed 'in the event' extreme pain' tablets. Yet zero advice about when/if Panadol or Nurofen. So I called up once, it rang out, 2nd time (22 rings) it was diverted to surgery who failed to connect and the line went dead.
Same thing on recall attempt 2, 3 and 4 (I'm not kidding!). Finally got day surgery at 7.45pm, who were unclear about things, but definitely no Nurofen until 3pm the following day. Good to have this info, yet shouldn't this be documented in the non existent discharge summary? Was told to contact the surgeon's office in the morning for advice about bandages or anything else. Makes me feel really confident...not. Rather disappointed coming from a private hospital, but the lack of documentation re post op care is more of a concern. We'll hopefully skip this hospital in the future.

Well! What a draconian embarrassment! Experienced Lingard Day Surgery in 2013 and was hoping things had improved - but NO, still an absolute shocker! After a 2+ hour wait in what can only be described as a third world overcrowded waiting room, I was ushered to a 'stall' but alas NO available beds, just a dirty warn out, unhygienic chair! 30+ min wait, bed arrived and then issued with a stained blanket - REALLY! And, listening to others around me through the very (non) private curtains, I was certainly not alone in my experience.
Unfortunately, I have experienced day surgery @ Warner's Bay Private & St. Vincent Private and WOW could Lingard learn a lesson on scheduling, customer relations, decor and basic presentation! Nursing staff exceptional (thankyou) - they must pay well cause what an embarrassment to admit that's where you work.
ADVICE: Check where your specialist works from and choose any other option - honestly your local butcher will treat you better! It is obvious that management just doesn't give a f#@k and it is just a money making sausage factory.

Lack of communication between departments made my stay frustrating. Meals very ordinary- my 3 day menu for meals was lost between admission and the kitchen. Catering gave me whatever they wanted and did not give me an opportunity to select and fill out a new menu. Cornflakes came without milk - I don't like Cornflakes . Ice Cream arrived with dinner menu - icecream was melted and just liquid. I had orthopaedic surgery and should have been in the orthopaedic ward- howeverI was placed in the surgical ward. This created confusion with Allied Health and Drs as they could not find me. A friend of mine phoned Lingard and they were told I was not in the hospital. Very disappointed with the lack of duty care and respect.

After my spinal surgery I spent two nights in the Lingard private hospital.
The nurses and doctors were fantastic. Nothing was too much for the nurses and the doctors. Although all the staff were busy, there was always time to attend to patient calls. I highly recommend this hospital. Definitely a 10/10 score.

A very good hospital with great staff and excellent care for my elderly Mum from Admission to Theatre to ICU then Surgical 2 to discharge and DrJaaback is just an awesome Doctor.
