The reception does not read certain emails.

I emailed them to cancel an appointment because they would not answer their phone - even though I called them different times throughout the day.

I didn’t hear anything back except another email two days later saying my appointment is still at the same time.

So I cancelled my engagements to be free for this appointment because they charge you if you don’t show up.

On the day, after 20 minutes of waiting and 4 missed calls to the centre, the receptionist calls me to say the appointment is cancelled and the next available one is one month away.

She said the email saying my appointment was still going ahead was an “automated response”.

I’m so disappointed by this waste of time.

AVOID coming here for an ADHD assessment. They will drag the diagnosis time. For $700 you get a 20-30 minute talk and then you'll have to wait another 2-3 weeks for another appointment. The psyche's here have no sympathy and will explain to you how they are doing you a favour for not having a longer appointment with you because it's going to cost more money.

I have university starting soon and now have to take another term off seeing that I'm unsure how I will cope without fixing my low motivation and focus levels.

Surprisingly the receptionists were nice which I was surprised to see in the reviews that they are the problem. There are other places where you will get diagnosed on the first day in a 1-3 hour talk for the same price. Avoid this place.

I was referred to SJOG by my GP. After reading the reviews, I was not filled with confidence, but decided to give them a try anyway based on trust for my GP.
I wish I had trusted the reviews from the start. A complete waste of time and money. I realise that any job can become tiring and mundane with time, but the people here seem not to care at all. They are supposed to be caring for people who are already mentally and emotionally fragile, but they barely even acknowledge your existence.
There were a number of issues that arose during my interactions here. The last straw was when I arrived for my rescheduled appointment (after having the doctor cancel on me at the last minute previously), I was told to sit and the doctor would be out in a minute. 20 minutes later, nobody had come, so I left. Another 27 minutes after that (now 47 minutes after my 1 hour appointment was supposed to begin) I got a call from the doctor saying she was running late and could I please come back. Absolutely not. I will never be back. Anybody seeking mental health treatment should look elsewhere.

EDIT: After seeing my one star review, they replied with a form response asking me to email them directly about my experience. Out of curiosity, I did, and they stayed true to form by completely ignoring the email.
From this, I can only assume that responding to their bad reviews isn't out of concern for their past patients, but actually just a transparent attempt to save face with potential new customers.
Make no mistake, SJOG could not care less about your mental well-being.

I have been here for three years. I think it's a clean and professional facility. Hard to find a psychiatrist. For a regular check up every six months I'm very grateful to be on the books. All the best st John of God.

I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Awais Ahmad. I went in for an ADHD assessment, hoping for a thorough and understanding evaluation of my symptoms. Instead he focused solely on my emotional dysregulation symptoms and completely dismissed my primary ADHD symptoms which were the reason for my visit. He hastily diagnosed me with borderline personality disorder, ignoring key aspects of my concerns that were unrelated to BPD.

He was rude, dismissive and made me feel rushed, as though my concerns were not valid or worth his time. The experience left me feeling unheard and frustrated, as I was looking for support and clarity, not judgment and dismissal. I would not recommend him for anyone seeking an ADHD assessment or a compassionate approach to mental health.

Really impressed recently with the attentiveness from Linda and some of the other staff when one of my prescriptions were messed up by my pharmacy! The team was quick to attend to my urgent need and ensure I get my script renewed by another dr as my original one was away on leave. Very grateful for this ! Keep up the good work 🙏

I do not recommend this place if you are looking for doctors and staff who are passionate and caring about their patient’s mental health. I was seeing Dr Ricky Tsang for 2 years for management of my mental health and medications relating to it. He did not treat me as somebody who was knowledgeable about my own health, and gave lazy recommendations that could be googled. He was not prepared for our sessions, often wasting time during our appointments trying to find paperwork that should have been organised prior to the appointment and on most occasions late to the appointment himself. He did not treat me with compassion and empathy. The reception staff are rude, the phones are never answered and it is all round just a terrible place to be if you have a mental health condition. I 100% recommend going elsewhere if you can.
