I want to express my heartfelt thanks to Dr. Rebecca Seton, her incredible team of doctors, and the entire nursing staff at Royal North Shore Hospital for the outstanding care I received during my recent admission for an inguinal hernia repair. From start to finish, I felt safe, respected, and genuinely cared for.

The professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail shown by everyone involved made all the difference in my recovery. The doctors were top-notch, and the nursing team was simply exceptional.

In my humble opinion, our medical system works perfectly well when it’s in the hands of such dedicated professionals. Thank you all for your commitment and compassion - it meant the world to me.

I broke my wrist a few months ago and was rushed to ED at Royal North Shore Hospital. Everyone was absolutely wonderful from the staff in ED (admin/triage) to the nurses, radiologists and doctors that looked after me that night on the ward. A special thank you to Dr Vincent AN a caring and kind Surgeon who was amazing & very professional with excellent bedside manners. I had surgery the next morning with Dr Richard Atkinson and Dr An before being discharged. I was then referred to the hand physio department who were excellent. Thank you to Christina for being so patient with me and getting me through it. This review is long overdue, thank you Royal North Shore for your professionalism and wonderful care.

My daughter was taken taken to the neonatal intensive care unit right after she was born at north shore private. The nurses as doctors at the hospital were absolutely amazing!

The team spent night and day taking care of my little one until she had fully recovered. Even though my daughter had all these machines connected to her, they still allowed my wife to cuddle our new born, assisting with adjusting all the machines and cables so my wife was able to hold her.

Once again the team who assisted my daughter was absolutely amazing and I really appreciate all the effort they put in for her

We are so lucky to have RNSH. Amazing! I had a surgery yesterday and I cannot express my gratitude in words for what I received yesterday from every single staff member, nurse, every single doctor and of course the surgeon. Thank you so much! You cannot be paid enough for what you do!!!

I cannot say enough good things about Royal North Shore Public Hospital! From the moment I arrived, I was treated with the utmost care, professionalism, and kindness.

The hospital is extremely clean, well-organized, and runs so efficiently. The doctors are absolutely amazing—highly skilled, knowledgeable, and compassionate. They explained everything clearly and made sure I understood my condition and the treatment plan.

The level of care I received here was outstanding. The nurses and staff went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and supported throughout my entire stay. I felt genuinely cared for every step of the way.

I can honestly say this was the best hospital experience I have ever had. I am so grateful to the entire team for their dedication and exceptional care. If you are ever in need of medical attention, this is the hospital you can trust!

Very good experience! As soon as I went into the hospital all the nurses and doctors treated me so kind and compassionately. The doctors were also very smart and knew what to do when I was hurt.

The environment was very clean, sanitary and well kept. There were a large variety of places inside the hospital which included shops, cafés and the treatment rooms.

Equipment was definitely very high levelled and was very useful. There were also a lot of varieties of equipment as well, such as the X-ray and the drip machines.

When I stayed overnight, the doctors kept checking on me even throughout the night!

Definitely one of the best hospitals around, and I recommend going to this hospital for the best experience you could have!

First time in a hospital in Australia and we are truly thankful for the attention & care given. Have seen reviews that the wait times are long etc but it is not bad as some say and people should not complain because Staff need to properly assess your situation and prioritise Patients (which is not an easy task) - Thank You to the Doctors & amazing Staff!

I am writing to share my experience and express my concerns regarding my scheduled colonoscopy at your hospital on Friday, March 21, 2025.

Following a positive result from the government-provided bowel cancer screening for individuals over 50, I was referred for a colonoscopy at your hospital. I carefully followed the “Instructions for Colonoscopy” provided in advance—consuming only jelly and clear fluids after lunch the day before, and abstaining from all food and even water from 10:00 AM on the day of the procedure. I arrived and checked in at around 12:00 noon as instructed.

At approximately 12:05 PM, I was taken to a bed, where I underwent a brief pre-procedure assessment including blood pressure and temperature checks, and changed into the examination gown. However, I was then left lying on the bed with no further information until after 2:00 PM. When I asked staff when my turn would come, I was only told, “Very soon,” with no clarity or updates. I had to wait over two hours in a state of growing anxiety, extreme hunger, and severe thirst.

Despite having a scheduled appointment, I was left waiting for an extended period without any explanation or consideration. This experience raised serious concerns about the hospital’s handling of patient care and scheduling.

I understand that I was receiving care through the public system. However, I sincerely hope that this was not the reason for the lack of proper communication and patient care. I respect the fact that the endoscopy staff are extremely busy and working hard, but some basic level of coordination or updates—such as staggered appointment times or estimated waiting times—could have made a big difference in ensuring patient comfort and dignity.

If I was somewhere in the middle of the day’s list, I can only imagine how much longer the patients scheduled after me may have waited. In such cases, is it really necessary for everyone to check in strictly at 12:00 PM?

Ultimately, I was forced to cancel the procedure due to the distressing circumstances. When I left the hospital, I was feeling dizzy and unsteady on my feet due to a combination of extended fasting, dehydration, anxiety, and stress. I fully understand the importance of this government-funded screening for my own health, which is why I had been diligent in preparing. However, the way I was treated at Royal North Shore Hospital left me deeply disappointed and frustrated.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide a clear explanation regarding the handling of this situation, and I sincerely hope this feedback contributes to better patient care going forward.
