As an international student, Shalom College holds a special place in my heart.

From the moment I stepped into Shalom College, I was enveloped in a warm embrace of acceptance and friendship. The sense of belonging to a diverse and welcoming community has made being away from home a much more comfortable experience.

The support I received from the faculty and staff was beyond the ordinary. They genuinely cared about my academic and personal well-being, and they were not only employees, but mentors and friends. For example, when I wanted to borrow a USB stick from the college to print out my study materials but found that it was broken, I asked if I could borrow a USB stick from a college staff member, and they generously gave me an unused USB stick, which greatly improved my study efficiency and made me feel like a family member.

What really sets Shalom College apart is the heart-warming events they organise. These events gave me the opportunity to bond with fellow students and create memories that will last a lifetime. It was through these shared experiences that I found a second home in this foreign land. The residents are each smart, hardworking, yet helpful and kind-hearted, and I have made some of my best friends at College, a bond that will last a lifetime.

Finally, Shalom College is more than just a residence hall; it is a home for emotions, friendships and personal growth. If anyone is looking for a place to call home while pursuing their dreams at UNSW, I wholeheartedly recommend Shalom College. It has been an honour to be a part of this wonderful community.

I’ve lived at Shalom College for a year, moving in last September. It’s a really nice place, very hospitable and friendly with great diversity of culture and people. The community is very active with numerous activities and sports events. The staff are incredibly nice and always willing to help. The facilities are well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming. I’ve made good friends here and have had an amazing experience. Highly recommend Shalom College to anyone looking for a vibrant and inclusive living environment 😉

I lived at Shalom for one year during an exchange program. If I had to recommend a place to live in Sydney as an international student, it would definitely be Shalom. A stay within its walls is an experience never to be forgotten. You are part of a community that helps you whenever you need it. People are respectful, open-minded, and always ready to organise various activities. Moreover, the rooms are comfortable, and the food is healthy. I spent very good moments there, and I thank everyone at Shalom for this fantastic year.

I highly recommend students to experience their uni life with extremely nice peers and staff at Shalom where you can enjoy amazing food, environment, activities, culture... Basically every thing I can think of! So far I have lived at an residential college of another uni, a student accommodation, a rented house, but none of them had made me felt as fantastic as Shalom. It is not as large as other colleges but it is the very best place which has made me feel at home and rather emotionally secure. I very much appreciate the warm and inclusive culture that inherits by everyone - it has been a great happiness to be one of the residents of Shalom.

Shalom was a wonderful place to live. I had been a resident at the college for over 2 years and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I met and made some really wonderful friends. The accommodation and food are great, the staff are welcoming and always willing to listen. The activities and events are organised well and cater to all your interests (academics, lifestyle, careers and overall well-being). There are ample opportunities to get involved and there is something for everyone. Highly recommend this fab community
