This was my first visit to Canterbury Hospital and I’m beyond impressed. The Emergency Department was fast, friendly, and genuinely caring. They didn’t waste time with paperwork while I was in pain—they started treatment right away and said the forms could wait. That level of compassion is rare. Compared to my past 3-hour waits at other public hospitals, this was a blessing. Thank you, Canterbury Hospital. May the Almighty bless you all! I now know exactly where to go in Sydney for emergency care.

I found the emergency department to be friendly, the staff were lovely and professional and had me sorted out within 4.5hrs. Would much prefer a hospital these days, you get the proper care as opposed to the GP and paying huge fees for being a number!
I went during the day it was a bit chaotic at times but that's emergency and you have to expect a wait time.
The only thing I didn't like was the smell of cigarettes coming from some of the staff it was a bit overwhelming but I may have been sensitive due to my issue. It was clean and tidy.
For a public hospital it wasn't bad at all, considering the overflow the poor staff had to deal with.
Thank you to the lovely triage nurses and Dr Abbie and the trainees ❤️

I am so happy with my local Canterbury Hospital. Took my dad for his fractured thumb yesterday, everyone at ED is so friendly and helpful, especially Dr Mahsa, super thorough and professional with genuine care for patients. I was shock to see the overall low rating. It’s not a mega hospital but it is what I could think of an ideal hospital experience would be. Anyway ED st Canterbury is outstanding, thanks team!

Time spent in emergency with a family member recently.
I found the experience from all staff to be professional and empathetic, with care and treatment delivered within a reasonable time.
The area was clean, with plenty of seating and toilets nearby.
Depending on the time, street parking is difficult to find.

If there is 0 stars rating I would’ve it to them. They don’t deserve the 1 star.
Long waiting hours.
Nurses are very disrespectful.
I regret every time I come here.

I was admitted to ICU for 3 days and I can not express what amazing doctors and nurses they have. They were so supportive and caring. Very impressed with their communication to me and each other. I really felt I was being medically treated well.

My brother had an accident and we rushed him to the emergency department. We’re currently waiting for about four hours. We asked them to provide us with an X-ray so we can leave, but they informed us that it would take more than an hour to arrive. It seems like they do not have enough doctor to handle the emergency cases.
Coming to this hospital is my worst decision

Staff super friendly and your taken care of. Nothing bad to say for a 3 day stay other then waiting most of day 1 for a bed because it was busy. Great staff so treat them well ❤️‍🩹 too. They deserve it as they chose a Career of taking care of and attending to the public. everything I asked for was given. Thank you doctors and nurses here, ward 20
