👍 Reviews of Condobolin District Hospital

Condobolin District Hospital - Condobolin, New South Wales

After spraining my ankle badly, I had an X-ray at Condobolin hospital. The locum Doctor didn’t want to come in (which is fair enough) and said to return on Saturday morning at 8.30am, which I did. I live 42kms from the hospital and my husband had to drive me in. I waited for 2 hours for him to arrive and then I had to go.
There was no report on the X-ray yet (I wish I’d known this sooner!) so he asked me to return on Monday morning at 8am. Again, my very busy husband had to drive me in and wait. Four other patients came in after me and went in before me and two hours later I left. I was pretty cranky by then. The nursing staff and Radiographer were fantastic as usual, but I felt the Doctor wasn’t invested at all in our hospital. He had no regard for my time and travel distance. At $3,000 per hour you’d think he’d give 100% but it was really just a referral role he was playing. It’s the same story in every regional hospital. Permanent Doctors don’t want to live out here where they can’t make use of their range of skills. The whole health system in NSW needs a total revamp.
