What can I say about this organisation other than special! And I don't use that word lightly. I could not recommend this wonderful organisation enough. Wellways is a not for profit advocate service managing without government funding. The government not supporting this essential organisation is an utter discrace. They rely on private funding so if anyone can spare a few bucks for this organisation it will make a real difference. I know I'm donating.
The staff, well I can only describe them as very special people. They will go above and beyond to advocate for you. My advocates name is Joshua. What a great man Joshua is. Joshua worked tirelessly on my behalf to help me through the application for the DSP and succeeded in doing so.
I have a broken lower spine held together with screws and rods. Yet scomos pet project during covid changed the DSP application process to make it virtually impossible to get the dsp no matter how disabled you are. Unless you have 5 to 10 grand to spare on many unreasonable expesive reports and solicitors don't bother trying. You will need solicitors or an Advocate like Joshua from Wellways. This is where Wellways is essential if your finances are short which is normally the case with unsupported disabled people.
There was times I wanted to give up because the DSP process is extremely complicated and disheartening and reports extremely hard to get. The Drs and specialist don't like doing DSP applications because of the time and red tape required. There is no official DSP paperwork for a Dr or specialist to fill out anymore. They have to wing it now. But Joshua had a way that no one else had of getting me to hang in there which I did. He's an amazing man part of an amazing team.
There us no question this awesome organisation is worth every bit of 5 stars. I'd give 10 if I could, more!
Again if you can spare a few bucks to help this essential organisation I implore you to do so.

My Support Coordinator contacted Wellways in order to get a support worker via my NDIS package. I have been in touch with a gentleman my that name of Steven Hull of which I found him very proactive listener, diligent and above all, very accommodating to my suggestions. Steven is a Would of knowledge and is willing to go that extra mile to find the most appropriate solutions that would directly benefit my particular needs. The thing is that I'm the type to person that I try to assist myself before asking for assistance in all facets of life, and only then, if I feel like I hit a wall, then I able to ask for assistance.

What is ironic is that I'm currently with a deferent service provider with very little understanding of what my needs are and Steven in just one meet, I felt I could certainly connect. He did't just understood my frustration, but offered solutions that would certainly benefit my very well being both physically and most so mentally.

Thank you Steven for being such a professional with the willingness to assist in getting on the right track.

Terrible organisation. My partner, who is prone to falls and in need of somebody to assist her with shopping and general house work, has been left home alone on days she was told she would be getting a support worker. For 5 consecutive days, no worker has turned up, and nobody from Wellways has contacted her to let her know about the absences ahead of time. I have my own job that I must do, and cannot afford to keep taking time off work to do their job for them.

Do not look to this group for help for any of your loved ones with a disability. Many calls will go unanswered.

These people have not helped my disabled friend.. thought you was ment too help. His house is a mess. He has dishes and rubbish everywhere. Pick yiur game up. I'm going too channel 9 a current affair about this
