Absolutely pathetic for teen mental health. Wouldn't pic my teen up 6 months ago unless he attempted suicide & survived. Referred again in the last 2 months but because he was going to rehab they handballed to them. Rehab handballed us back. They rang us very fast when they thought he might be in a medical trial but not for his actual mental health. Now had a couple of episodes of psychosis. He's literally crying out for help, wants the help but they've handballed us back to a Paed late Jan & in his words last night " That might be to late."

Zero mental health help for teenagers in this country. Even when he attempted we could get through to any help lines & i had to beg for him to be admitted. Shameful.

Great place to visit, incredibly welcoming atmosphere and a Cafe to match. Not to mention some very friendly and helpful people who work towards improving accessibility, awareness and education surrounding youth mental health.

Don’t be fooled by the nice atmosphere they’ve put more effort into the way the place looks than what they provide , they provide you with nothing but more problems😂 i and so many others I have spoken to that Orygen has prescribed xanxs and valiums to at ages 15 , they also refuse to give you proper treatment and will have you sit in a room to talk about yourself while they listen to you and ask you questions like they’re only there to hear the drama for their entertainment . I’d rather be sick for the rest of my life than ever go here again.

Caitlyn , Laura and the many other psychologists shock me on how and where they have gotten their degrees , they do nothing but sit there being useless . And when you recommend types of therapies that may work on you they don’t do them, and when I think about it why am I the one sitting there thinking of ideas and therapies to heal me , what am I even there with you for? , what is your job then

Parents!!! Orygen will NOT help your child THEY WILL TRAUMTISE THEM MORE !!!

the YAT receptionist is horrible and unprofessional. i believe her name is “ Olive”. i called regarding a referral and explained to her my last encounter with the service which then she proceeded to invalidate me and give me attitude. she then proceeded to tell me that i wasn’t valid for any type of service there. which i don’t think should be coming from a person who’s job is to sit behind a wooden desk and check people off. i should be getting contacted by a medical professional or case worker to be told that information. she seemed like she knew it all and it was a horrible experience for a young person with mental health issues. you guys should really take a look at who you are hiring because this is probably the reason why no body believes in the health care system. do better.

I'm sick of trying to get an appointment with them, every time I get called I'm getting tossed around by numerous people. Being told one thing, then being told the other. All I wanted was just to schedule an appoint (because I missed one). That's it. I don't understand why it is taking me weeks just to hear one little thing. Poor poor communication within this area. All I want is help.

I called their triage service this evening, as referred to by Beyond Blue. The woman I spoke to didn’t even care to listen about why I was calling. She kept repeating to me that I should refer the person I was concerned about back to their psychologist.

I explained to her I had been referred by Beyond Blue, to which she responded “yeah…they refer everyone here”. Super helpful response

I wanted to understand more about their service so I could provide that to the person I was supporting and was told that I “shouldn’t just call around to different services”. Had she allowed me to speak and explain the reason for my call, and ask the questions I had intended perhaps she would have been equipped to help me.

I tried to explain that that the person in question was at risk of hurting themselves and others and I was advised their service couldn’t do anything to help (I wasn’t seeking crisis care, just to ascertain if they could help in any other way) and she dismissed me saying “call the police”.

I’m glad I wasn’t a person who was struggling myself. Her behaviour was not only unprofessional, it was not trauma informed, helpful or empathic in any way. Very disappointing and very incapable.

I had the best experience when I was younger. Thanks to the psy & staff for their great efforts & time. & helping me become a better person. They really do a goodjob when you’re seeking for professional opinion. They will listen to you and help you engage with others with different activities. I would recommend to anyone who is struggling to come out their shell with them. Thank you again doctor Jasmine.
