Have been seeing Dr Lucinda for 1.5 years and she has been so kind and compassionate. Not many psychiatrists will do talk therapy anymore - precious ones for perinatal mental health who were meant to be the ‘best’ ones said to me ‘I only prescribe medication. If you won’t take it you can’t see me’. I would get 15 minutes and was pressured into medication I wasn’t comfortable with.
Lucinda is different - she works holistically and focuses on everything. She never pushed medication on me and gave me other lifestyle ways to cope after a traumatic pregnancy loss and hospital experience. Highly recommend!

I have been seeing Dr. Lucinda Smith for a few months now and I think that she is one of the most knowledgeable, caring and kind practitioners a person can ask for. Glow Clinic is a beautiful, calm space too with lovely people at the reception to help and I am glad to have found this place and can easily recommend it to others needing support.

The reception staff are friendly and accommodating. When I called to book my first appointment in, Maddie explained everything clearly and made me feel welcome. I had to bring my toddler with me once and it was helpful that they had toys and books and the team were kind and made an effort to engage with him.
I also really appreciate the help I have received from Dr Adaobi with respect to my health and wellbeing as a new mother. It is nice seeing someone who understands the nuisances of being a new parent and how this can affect your health and welling.

Really disappointing experience. I felt as though there was little to no support and considering the cost, I expected better.
Despite multiple voiced concerns with regards to the medication I’d been prescribed, there was no willingness to discuss/ try an alternative.
Issues with communication; I ended up as an inpatient (medically required) during pregnancy, I had a scheduled appointment however was not advised that there would not be a Medicare/ Private Health rebate due to my “inpatient status”, mind you, the psychiatrist was aware as she was notified by my admitting OB prior to the appointment.
After my baby was born, I was suffering from PND and was unable to obtain an appointment for almost 2 months, so I waited. During the appointment the doctor advised that my referral had expired and because of this there would be no rebate (there was no “heads up” at the time of booking or prior to the appointment); I was able to have a referring doctor backdate a referral so that I was able to obtain the rebate.
I felt incredibly helpless and desperate following the birth of my baby (who had to be admitted without me to special care nursery).
During my inpatient stay, I was seen by a public psych team and expressed my concerns with the psychiatrist from Glow Clinic, I also expressed my frustration and concern to the administration assistant at Glow Clinic; instead of discussing, the psychiatrist said that she had felt “personally attacked” (her words) which made for an uncomfortable session as I didn’t feel it professional or appropriate (considering my extreme emotional state) that I had sought out, paid for and utilised these sessions to discuss my emotional/ psychological wellbeing and not hers.
This was a really awful experience; I feel worse for having been subjected to this clinic and Dr Adaobi.

After 3 months, I got a text message saying, the clinic has received my referral letter!! What a wait!! A courtesy email or phone call would have been nice to say that the clinic has received the referral letter and there will be a bit of a wait and someone will get in contact with you either via email or call on the next step! This approach would have been nice to give an update! Therefore very disappointing "Glow Clinic".

The other clinic that I got referred to and ended up going with, was good at getting back to me! Within 2 weeks I received an email and got a call, and an appointment was made!

My cousin referred me to Dr Adaobi. It takes time to get a first appointment here so I think if you are planning on getting pregnant, make an appointment in advance (you can always cancel later if you feel you don't need it). Dr Adaobi is great for women of colour in our collective experience. It's not easy to choose a psychiatrist or psychologist because it's really horses for courses. You got to connect with the person and that won't always happen. But she is my type of person and has made me feel very together and organised for the post-partum period! Which in turn helps soothe my particular brand of anxiety.

Edit: Glow clinic has reached out to rectify this situation, they did go above and beyond to apologise and make different arrangements for me to be seen, they have also reimbursed the cost of putting my daughter into childcare for the day that the appointment was missed. Their apology was sincere and very much appreciated, I have now booked in for an appointment at a different time.

Would absolutely not recommend. I have been struggling with post partum anxiety and booked an appointment 3 weeks in advance. Due to Melbourne lockdown restrictions I was unable to have my daughter cared for and booked and paid for her to be in daycare for an entire day for this appointment. This morning (day of my appointment) I received a text message confirming my appointment for next week instead of today, when I called and showed them the appointment confirmation email with today's date they said they'd get back to me. Over an hour later they call to say the best they can do is late this afternoon when my toddler will be home again, otherwise I will need to wait until next week or month. To say I'm disappointed is a huge understatement, to ask for help and support is tough, then to wait weeks for that help only for that to be taken away is devastating. I won't be coming back here and will be recommending people don't waste their time.
