Triage nurses in ED need either retraining or firing. Their rudeness and contempt for patients is truly abhorrent. I don’t know who is responsible for cleaning patient toilets, but I used the men’s toilets and there was unflushed blood in the bowl and urine on the seat. The cleaning sheet stated it had not been attended to for three hours.
Would never recommend this place to anyone. Will never return.
Congratulations Sunshine Hospital. You’re officially the worst hospital I’ve had the displeasure of attending.

Absolutely disgraceful. Sunshine Hospital refused to accept my partner for her pregnancy care — despite her being an existing patient for over 8 years, living less than 10km away, and well within their catchment zone. They boast about providing "continuity of care," yet completely shattered that trust, replacing it with anxiety and stress at one of the most critical times in a woman’s life.

Even worse? They’re somehow able to accept patients 40 minutes away, but not someone just down the road. Unless, of course, you’re a private patient — then suddenly they "have space." It’s fraudulent to claim you’re full when you clearly pick and choose based on money.

If my partner were to go into labour and call an ambulance, they’d be taken straight to Sunshine Hospital, because it’s the closest by over 10 minutes. Yet they’ve denied her care. How can you turn away someone who has relied on your services for nearly a decade?

The level of bureaucracy, hypocrisy, and cold indifference is truly sickening. Sunshine Hospital should be ashamed. They don’t deserve to call themselves a public healthcare provider.

I presented to the emergency department on Tuesday following an incident. Everyone who looked after me was so lovely and empathetic. Everyone asked questions and listened, they ran all the tests and I was seen by multiple departments as required. A special shootout to the doctors and nurses who looked after me in short stay wing, you were all so wonderful. The facilities were also new and clean. I was there for most of the day before being discharged and was so pleased and at ease with the entire experience. Triage was also easy and the Dr who saw me in fast track did a great job of explaining likely tests and what to expect from the day. Thank you all.

I took my twins to the hospital for an allergy checkup this afternoon. Dr. Alhucema Paulina smo was very friendly and sincere in receiving us. She used her extensive medical knowledge and rigorous and meticulous professional attitude to analyze and study the causes and treatments of the children‘s allergies. Her team is very good and outstanding. The children were very happy throughout the whole process of the checkup, waiting for the results, and being emotionally stable. Thank you Sunshine Hospital for having such a good doctor to help us.

Stage three cancer patient, The doctors and nurses at Western are fantastic. The administrators are utter morons. They can’t even run the car park at sunshine hospital, how can they be expected to run the actual hospital.

Just about every service in this hospital is overrun. You can’t get a park in the radiology car park, You can’t get a park in the Oncology, You can’t get a park in the main hospital park. In fact, when I go there chemotherapy and make my own parks. Cafes have a Monopoly and are average. An effort to shame smokers you’ve managed to make every entrance to the hospital awful just give them a place to go away too, away from me trying to come in the door. Every time you come here, they change something but it doesn’t achieve very much.

Staff at this hospital are clearly not happy. The nurses do their best, But you can really tell the impact that Covid And a poorly administrated hospital system have on them.

I can’t see why they would choose WH to run the new hospital when they are doing such a crap job with sunshine. Why are there 3 empty independent car parks (I can’t afford) when the hospital carpark is full and patients can’t get to appointments, I have to park on a traffic island or in a garden just to park “in the grounds” so I can get validated parking. Why not just buy that land and blood run the lot better… far too logical. There’s no point putting Oncology or radiology on a car park if no one is enforcing it, but how come dialysis patients get car park where it is enforced? Why it’s cause the of the morons.

I had a terrible experience at Sunshine Hospital. My GP sent me there due to concerns that I may have had a ruptured ovarian cyst, but the hospital staff didn’t bother to do an ultrasound or any tests to confirm or rule it out. Instead, they only offered prescription painkillers, which I did not want and which do nothing to help my pain.

When I asked for proper testing, I was told it would be a “waste of time and resources.” I wasn’t there just for pain relief—I needed to find out what was causing my pain, yet they were more interested in masking symptoms than diagnosing the issue.

This hospital seems more focused on getting patients out the door quickly than actually providing proper care. If you need real answers about your health, I wouldn’t recommend coming here.
