Many times I accompanied my mother to the Clarendon St Surgery (she had Gold Card Veterans Affairs). My mother was a patient of Dr Taverner for many years and he gave her what she needed each time for her to stay out of extreme pain and have a good quality of life.

My personal experience with FPM includes - Dr Taverner has carried out two procedures at Frankston Hospital on my left shoulder.

Because of the past (like for my mother) occasions I expected to go to his rooms in Clarendon St and be treated by Dr Taverner so I would receive maximum relief from the extreme pain that had returned after my recent relapse. This time the treatment prescribed (by someone else) was not successful, I was still in chronic pain afterwards, so I am seeing Dr Gupta at Frankston Hospital Outpatients Clinic soon to hopefully get this debilitating severe pain greatly affecting my life and quality of life, under more control. This is the first time of attending that clinic I went away from it with no help dealing with a solution for my problem of chronic pain. I spent half my aged pension to see Dr Taverner hoping for a solution, (like the many times with my mother), from him that gave relief to my pain.

Whilst they may be great in basic pain management and have pleasant bedside manners they are not skilled in treating chronic constant pain from cancer at all. It has been my experience that they like you to have chronic pain that can’t be managed so that they make more money. I have spent over $50k with them and my pain is the same, if not worse.

He is surrounded by a team of uplifting staff and even when you are determined not to smile that day, the lovely Joanna has other ideas and makes them come to fruition. A joke, a laugh and you find yourself tethered to another lifeline and you can make it through another day. And she’s not alone. Almost all his team will find a way to lift you out of the abyss and support you as you pick yourself up. Can’t recommend him more highly.

Dr Gupta has left the most impactful, and positive change of my life, out of any health professional that I have ever seen. She was incredibly empathetic & knowledgeable in my Pain Management journey.

I came to the clinic in 2021 due to a combination of fibromyalgia & akathisia, with anxiety worsening the pain. Since then, I have been able to live a relatively normal life whilst using the techniques she had taught me.
