TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE - incorrect referral, do not go here. After seeing Dr Jeena Kim on two separate occasions for my lower back pain, I am now extremely concerned that I have been referred for a procedure in the incorrect location. After the procedure was conducted nowhere near the location of my actual pain, I have experienced no relief at all.

After reviewing my Imaging and their findings, it is now apparent that I misplaced my trust in Precision Brain and Spine and their ability to refer me for the correct procedure. After spending hundreds and even thousands of dollars over 2 years at Precision, my pain has only worsened.

Despite contacting the clinic and numerous staff over the 2 months following this incorrect referral, they done nothing to help. I have struggled to even get a phone call back. I have had to phone and harass them myself almost EVERY time over this 2 months.

Apparently, as I did not double check what Dr Kim had referred me for during the appointment, they will not take any part in rectifying their mistake. The lack of review into Dr Kim’s misdiagnosis is extremely frustrating and concerning, with Precision’s response being that I should pay further fees to see Dr Kim again in person. Not only does this feel like a further cash grab, as I have already forked out hundreds of dollars and only received a misdiagnosis, but it is unhelpful and unprofessional.

To conclude: after my experience, do NOT see Precision if you are expecting to be assisted with your pain. Also after my experience, I believe you should NOT expect the specialists (particularly Dr Kim) to know the anatomy of a spine. Additionally, do not expect Precision to provide any ongoing assistance if one of their doctors makes a mistake.

Disclaimer: this is my opinion based on my experience

Dr Gavin weeks, was incredible. He listened to everything i had to say. Asked me so many questions and analysed me and assessed me thoroughly and has made plans to help me with my ongoing chronic pain. The best pain specialist i have seen so far and i have seen 3 all together who just wanted a pay check and couldnt care less about their patients. Highly recommend precision Brain Spine and pain 👍

Was referred by my GP for a second opinion. I have no health insurance. The reception staff were lovely both on the phone and in person and they could book me in the very next day with Dr Ramesh. Dr Ramesh asked my story and did a basic assessment. He then decided none of my symptoms fit a neurological disease. He was unable to look up any of my previous head/neck/spine scans despite me telling reception in advance what company they were with and refused to do so as he 'trusts the radiologists' reports. Second opinion should also be of scans! After the appointment I contacted reception to ask for him to try call to look at my scans. Never heard anything back. He never sent a letter back to my GP with his review and my GP is currently chasing him for it. All the advice he said to me was 'just stay in the public system'. Very disappointed and feel like I wasted my money here.

I had a very bad experience with this appointment. I was referred by my GP for long-term lower back pain and visited Dr. Jeena after seeing a neurosurgeon a month earlier. Dr. Jeena did not greet me and seemed unhappy. I said hello politely but received no response.

When she asked about my condition, she kept interrupting me, insisting I tell the whole story, even though my pain has changed over the past three months. Despite my efforts to focus on my current symptoms, she ignored what I was saying and insisted on her opinion. She even asked, “Why are you coming here?” which was ridiculous, as my GP referred me due to long-term pain. However, my GP had actually referred me to another doctor, not Dr. Jeena. She was rude, unprofessional, and did not properly assess my pain history. As a healthcare worker myself, I could see she lacked patience, sympathy, and a professional attitude.

She disagreed with the neurosurgeon, claiming it was a muscle issue, not a joint issue. While I didn’t judge this opinion, the neurosurgeon at least assessed my pain location. Dr. Jeena only pressed on my upper back and concluded it was just muscular.

If you are a patient, read the reviews before coming here. Finding the right doctor can be hard, and diagnosing back pain is complex, but this doctor is not professional. You don’t want to deal with her improper attitude and lack of proper treatment. Later on, I had a second MRI at a different radiology clinic, which showed multiple bulges and a different report, proving where my pain was coming from.

Wonderful experience so far with Precision. Dr Richard Sullivan was friendly and spoke to me about my injury with empathy and care. Felt a lot more comfortable about my rehabilitation and road to recovery after speaking to him.
Dr Kim in Kew was also excellent.

I've been treated here by Dr. Mohammed Awad (neurosurgeon) and Dr Symon McCallum (pain management specialist). They have both really caring and understanding of my medical issues caused by a car crash, and having them on my team made everything feel less daunting.

I had surgery performed 2 months ago now by Dr. Awad and I feel amazing, he even took the time and care to try and make sure my scar was as minimal as possible.

Dr. McCallum is always a pleasure to talk to, and he genuinely makes me less anxious about my symptoms and links me into helpful resources.

I cannot speak more highly of them, and I'm very thankful my GP recommended them to me. If you're ever in the unfortunate position to need a disk replacement + pain management I strongly recommend going here.

P.S The reception office at Essendon has always been lovely to talk to both in person and over the phone! 🙂
