My son attended Burpengary state secondary college for a term last year at year 10 level. He arrived from a different country where the schooling system was similar but still set up very differently.
There was a pleasant experience with the first enrollment with who I believe to be the principal. A lovely woman who made several promises to help our transition. These were not kept. We were left feeling very confused and neglected come exam time as there was no communication. The only communication they have mastered is when your child is absent and for these 2 reasons alone, I rate it 2 stars.
The rest we were left to figure out on our own with no help.
My son was bullied by students for seeking peace on his own during his breaks and not confirming to the typical and dramatic social regime, and was not supported through this. His home ec/cooking teacher picked on him also resulting in a failed class. I was pretty upset by the whole experience and would not recommend to anyone based on the fact we were not supported through the transition process with not even a single phone call even though they would have seen we were struggling to understand what to do.
Their website and portal for parents and students requires a teaching session in itself on how to use it and I guess they couldn't be bothered.
In addition to that I wasted money on a uniform that even though my son is clearly a boy... They sold us a couple of wrong items. I don't know where your head needs to be at for that to occur. Not the best experience for myself or my teenager. We will seek education elsewhere.

This school is amazing for students i had my daughter go there and she managed to get into university with good grades. I recommend sending your child here the staff are always loving to thw atudwnts

I went to school here, do not apply here. Some of the teachers were lovely. Lowkey was a living hell most of the time. Seen alot of bulling happen and depressed kids 1/10

This is not so very good school you can tell by the reviews. The teachers are good but some of them aren't good nor are they fair one time in grade 8 my math teacher let all the girls go out first before the boys when the girls were disrupting the class. The kids here they are either chill or they suck completely. There are other problems but I'm not going to go into detail if you were send your kid to this school please just think again before you do.

I currently attended burps and I was called out by a teacher for "waging" when i was gone to the toliet for 10 minutes she said she wanted to have a talk to my parents and tell them about me going to the toilet for longer then 5 minutes. she is still the worst teacher i have ever meet in the school and trust me their is bad teachers that will take things out on you if you had older siblings even if you do nothing and don't get me started on how they punish you if you retaliate when someone goes to through a punch your suspended like that. i was bit on the leg and all that happened was the kid was talked to and he is still trying to bite me again and it happened over 1 year ago. the bulling system is screwed they don't care until it gets to physical fights plus they say that if you wright an incident statement they will do something but no it will sit there for ages

Please do not send your children here. They constantly lock the toilets whether it’s from them being clogged, broken or just kids vaping. The bullying is out of pocket from both the teachers and students, the principal is no help either. The school is horribly dirty and damaged I had a Apple pegged at me while walking (lol) there’s only a few people at the school that’ll help with mental health that are actually good at it. There’s always a little lovers quarrel that ends up in a fight that’ll never actually happen.
