I started in the little house in 1977 and over time have progressed to here. The doctors have been perfect my problem is with the secretary Dawn. I can tell you 10 things over the years that Dawn's done to annoy me but the best one is when I take a friend of mine in there because he's a patient and I tell Dawn that he's being bashed and mistreated and starved by his care giver and they're not to know that we're here. Dawn tells me rubbish she knows his caregiver and somehow he finds out and bashers my friend this time but now he's in hospital and the caregiver is in prison. Just some more quality work from Dawn.

My first day at Smart Clinic Deception Bay so wasn’t sure what to expect. It was fairly busy so was expecting a long wait to see the practice nurse but no she was within 5 minutes of the scheduled time. Very friendly and professional as were the reception staff. The Dr was also very pleasant and helpful.

It was my first visit to the Deception Bay Clinic after sadly the closure of the Mango Hill branch. I found the first impression and the reception staff to be very hekpful and friendly, my appointment was on time and the Doctor to be very sympathetic and knowledgeable but also approachable and professional. I would definitely recommend.

Doctor refused to examine my child and suggested I take her elsewhere. She said she wasn’t good in this particular field of medicine which I appreciate the honesty however I thought she would have at least have conducted an examination of some sorts before saying she couldn’t help. I provided all information prior to coming and filled out all the forms that I was sent asking exactly what we were coming for so surely someone should have contacted me prior to this and we could have changed to a doctor who was comfortable with this area of medicine as you can book for this particular check at this clinic. She also told me that the doctors don’t even look at these forms which I wasn’t happy at as this has been a complete waste of time. Obviously the doctor did not bill me however when we went to check out the receptionist asked for the bill and was extremely rude when I said the doctor wasn’t billing me because she didn’t conduct an examination. The way she looked at me was completely unprofessional. (All of the other receptionist’s I have dealt with there have been lovely). We only moved to this practice because the Mango Hill one closed and I can’t see us coming back to be honest.

Got a vaccine, for myself and my son. Was quoted $140 each, but was actually $245 each -> with the consultation. Which was both of us at once for 7 mins.
Plus I was charged an extra $5 each on the pay machine, without being told or I'd have bpayed. $590 for 2 vaccines.
Medicare rebate only came through for one of us, despite being on same card so now im having to chase that as well. $200 for 10 mins seems a rot of the system.

I've been attending this clinic since Dr Smith owned it (the small house up near the library!) and although there are other clinics closer to me, I'll always make the travel to still go here. The GPs are all lovely. It can be hard to get in to see my regular GP now that deception bay has expanded. Ladies on reception are generally nice to me and remember me 🙂

Deception Bay Smart Clinic is my favourite, the staff are wonderful and receptionists are warm and loyal. I feel at home there and each visit helps me keep an eye on my health. Also I trust my doctor there to always give me the best advice.

Always lovely reception staff and my Dr always accommodates my needs no matter how big or small! Nursing staff are caring and approachable when it comes to my care or my family needs
