Dr Kelvin Larwood was my obstetrician for the birth of my first child. He has a wonderful bedside manner. He answered all my questions in great detail and I never felt rushed during any of my appointments. He was my surgeon when I gave birth via unscheduled/emergency c section at 230am in the morning - he arrived at the hospital within 15 minutes of being notified. He was extremely calm as I was being prepped for surgery and again he explained everything as it was happening and my baby girl was born perfectly healthy with his assistance. I was discharged from hospital 48 hours later and I was going for walks within the week and off all pain medication. 4 months later my scar is extremely tidy and I have no pulling or any discomfort in the area. My entire pregnancy and childbirth was very easy with the information and support he provided. Highly recommend him (and the lovely ladies from his office who were always so sweet to me)!

I thought I was lucky to receive an urgent appointment with Dr Larwood. Unfortunately although many of his reviews say otherwise, his bedside manner is atrocious.

I saw Dr Larwood post-partum after a traumatic birth, I was looking for hope. Instead I was told not to lift my baby but that I could sit on the sofa and have my partner, my mother or a friend pass me my child. I was told not to push the pram, or a shopping trolley. He laughed as he told me I should be like a trophy wife who just walks beside her husband and points to what she wants. Finally, I asked him if I would be able to heal enough to return to nursing. He told me that he's a surgeon and if he injured his wrist no he couldn't. He told me I should start looking for something else to do for work.

He has so many glowing reviews as an OBGYN delivering babies and maybe he's good at that, but he sure isn't good at helping a patient who feels scared and alone.

I honestly hope I never make any of my patients feel the way he made me feel on that day.

Dr Larwood is a fantastic obstetrician. His reputation as a brilliant surgeon is warranted. I had my 3rd caesarean section with him, despite my scaring - he got our baby out safely, quickly, with a barely visible scar, and a virtually pain free recovery.
