Just experienced a most professional and friendly stay at the hospital for an operation. Congratulations to the whole hospital team as I think there were about 30 employees to whom I came into contact with during my time at the hospital, each one carrying out their specific duties with excellence. Thank you.

If you’re reading this because you’re having a baby and thinking about going to Buderim Hospital, my advice is to consider going to SCUH. I was a full paying patient and had a really disappointing experience. I had to ask several times for pain medication after my c-section (because the nurses kept forgetting), I also encountered a nurse or two that were clearly burnt out and made unsavoury comments when I was only learning how to be a mum for the first time. I almost checked out a day early. Of course some of the nurses were lovely, but honestly the experience in general was disappointing and underwhelming and in hindsight, I would have saved my money and chosen SCUH (which I haven’t heard a bad thing about).

Staff are nice but the hospital sucks! The staff are clearly overworked and half the specialists are only there once/twice a week with not alternatives.
Almost everything has been a mission to achieve. From attempting to get paperwork for insurance forecasted to take 4-weeks. Buderim-team blaming doctors for missing discharge summaries. Everyone understands my frustration and that it's difficult but noone's able/willing to help. It's been my responsibility the entire time to acquire items that are provided as standard in the public system.
Appointments not booked, referrals to Doctors that don't exist, moving me a day after surgery (and again the day after) because the wards were closing due to cost-cutting measures.
I was moved into a ward where nurses had no understanding of my condition or how to help with maintenance of wounds.
An hour to get pain meds or nurses to respond because all the nurses were too stretched with patients. (they were super capable when they were in the room, which is why I note the nurses were lovely and helped where they could).
I would avoid this hospital unless it's the last option available. Specialists and nurses were super helpful and did all they could, but there's clear corner-cutting caused by the finance team for the sake of saving money.

I had a great experience. Came in for a day surgery and all staff were very thoughtful, polite and checking on me all the times. Food was good, and nurse and doctors were also great. I felt safe and there was always someone checking in on me. Although they were busy, the whole process was quick considering it was a surgery. They also have a tracking number so your family or carer can know what is happening. if you have been admitted, in surgery etc. My post op nurse was nurse Mel and she was amazing.

Most of all, I would like to say a special thank you to the two post op staff members Tia & Alka, who took great care of me. They made sure that I was comfortable and were very diligent in their duties. It is my opinion that they are a great asset to your hospital.

I would like to say a big thank you to all of the staff at Buderim private hospitals day surgery unit. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable throughout the whole process. Dr Blonde was excellent and I’m grateful to have had him as my surgeon.

My anaesthetist whose name alludes me, he was very good at his job, very professional and explained everything I needed to know in great detail. I felt like I was in good hands.

The facility are clean and not overcrowded,
There is an abundance of free parking, they also took great care of my grandfather and my mother over the past 15 years.

I highly recommend Buderim Private hospital ✅
