Having moved to FNQ from a big city, where, when visiting a doctor, you're made to feel like a burden and hurried out the door as quickly as possible by a Doctor who usually barely speaks English; coming to Clifton Beach medical was like stepping back in time to an era when people actually cared about each other (even the reception ladies were lovely). My son saw DR. HICKEY who was thorough and friendly. He conducted a thorough examination then personally led myself and my son to the Nurse area for further tests and was waiting for us after the tests. The lovely English nurse who conducted the tests was a delight. Highly professional, experienced and friendly. She did an amazing job at calming my nervous son. This place is the epitome of professionalism and care. Would give 10 stars if I could. Thanks to you all.

I have been a patient since 2021 - I have on numerous occasions been contacted by the rudest and argumentative receptionist the worst one is (Jacinta) they make SO MANY errors with accounts and Medicare submissions, I had to wait 6 weeks for a $145 refund as Medicare refused to pay on a 2 year old care plan they were trying to claim as a consultant. They charge expensive fees for services like Medical certificates $178 and to transfer your records to a specialist $40-50. I believe it’s more about making money than patient care. Most of the receptionists look like they hate there job, it shows through there attitude towards patients. The practice manager is as bad, she supports the rude staff members and doesn’t listen when you speak and just talks over you. The only one I’ve found nice is Julie. Such a depressing place to go no one is happy there. IM NO LONGER GOING THERE, thank goodness.

Up here for a holiday and of course my tonsillitis flares up. After ushered out of a different practice cause I didn’t have a booking I turned to Clifton Beach Medical and they were happy to help me feel better. Staff was super lovely and welcoming. Provided an amazing service, where I was comfortable and genuinely felt like the doctor cared about my wellbeing! Would definitely recommend to everyone.

In January 2023 I had some health issues and that’s how I met Dr Sharon Muir at Clifton Medical Centre. I had two long appointments (30-40 minutes each), was charged $138 for each appointment which I wasn’t really happy about, however I didn’t question it, as I understood the time could be a main factor and my health is a priority. Doctor advised me I will probably have to book appointment with a specialist if my problems still persist. She told me she will call me in a week time to check on me and she did. Our conversation lasted for maybe 10-15 seconds, I confirmed there was no issue at all after my last visit.

Few days ago I’ve received a phone call from Clifton medical centre informing me I have outstanding balance of $87 for…. a phone consultation back in January. I was completely shocked and disgusted… What I was thinking was just a courtesy phone call, (which I believed was a great procedure in place when GP charge you $138 per visit) turned into a fee for a consultation which I have never received… I’ve never been told I will be charged for it and frankly if I knew I would never pick up the phone. Receptionist told me I need to understand they need to charge for doctors time over the phone and it’s on their website… I still can’t believe it !

I am writing this to record my satisfaction with the care and professionalism which Dr Lindsay Martin has displayed in dealing with me as a patient. She came highly recommended when I moved from Melbourne to Cairns. This is because she is held in high regard among medical practitioners in Melbourne. I have found her approach to be thoroughly professional, meticulous and caring. She has provided the necessary time to deal with any matters arising. I would have no hesitation in recommending our to any prospective patient.

Lindsay Martin is an excellent practitioner who I have seen for roughly 4 years. She has always had genuine interest in her patients' well-being and makes the otherwise difficult process of recovering/healing/processing from long-term or short-term afflictions seem easier and happier. Though it can sometimes be difficult to book an appointment soon after a previous one (common with many other excellent practitioners in her field), in the case of an emergency or otherwise, she is always available for her patients, busy or not.
