I can't understand why they have such a low rating. I'm a local, have been coming here for years and have never had an issue. I enjoy the pathologist and nurse being on-site and have also used the Osteopath upstairs. No complaints from me or my family!

Im a new patient here. Well not so new ive been coming here i think for a while now. My partner don recommended this place to me and im so thankful that he did. I have to now use a wheelchair to go out in the community and theyve got a fantastic setup here. A carpark of their own at the back of the practice with disability parking and a ramp from the carpark to the surgery. They have a lovely spacious waiting room with natural sunlight pouring in through a huge window at one end of the waiting room and you can even sit in front of the glass doors to the surgery in the waiting room where natural sunlight comes in as well. The receptionists and the practice manager are very warm and welcoming and theyre quite ok with you bringing something to eat or drink while youre waiting for the doctor which i really appreciate and ive also found them to be really helpful. They booked me in to see Dr Zaid Alsaabi for my very first appointment and i found him really good. Hes very kind and calm and hes given me really good advice which ive followed each and every time. They even have their own pathology clinic where you can have blood tests snd they even have a really spacious disability toilet and dr zaids consulting room is very spacious as well. I always look forward to coming here its really relaxing and i really appreciate everyone being really warm and welcoming to me all the time. I live in katoomba so i have to get my careworkers to drive me there but its so worth the extra travel.

Highly recommend this family practise. Friendly and efficient. Everyone from GP to nurse to receptionists knew what they were doing and did it with a smile. Fantastic nurse checked my 6 week old and gave him his first vaccines. Explained everything and didn't feel rushed. So calm. What could have been a challenging appointment turned out to be a very positive experience.

The Doctors and the specialist nurses are fine at this busy "Super Clinic". The staff and the over all running of the practice is another thing. Super Clinic it is not. Sadly Blackheathens have no choice if they want to see a local doctor.

Dr Ahmed was nice the 1st visit, then mean the 2nd. He was apparently really bothered that my partner returned to him despite having a primary GP in Katoomba. The fact that the primary GP was on extended leave, & that she was looking for a new GP, didn't stop him from repetitively and intensely berating her for returning (I witnessed this in the consult). There are much kinder ways to communicate Doc! She needed consoling outside the practice, she's already delicate having recently been in ICU, other people must have thought she had some terrible medical news but no, she was just feeling awful after being treated so disrespectfully. He also went on in an equally intense way about how it was too soon for another steroid injection into the shoulder, which she hadn't asked for! He hogged the consult. Unnecessary behaviour. Shame on him.

Tried to cancel an appointment online last night. Website said I had to call. Called first thing in the morning, was on hold for 50 min. Drove to the office while on hold. Reception calmly told me the phones were not working, but offered no apology or recognition of my wasted time and their failed process. Really sad because this place is not universally bad but they really need to lift their game. My wife also had an experience where she had booked an appointment with a doctor only to find the doctor said she did not have an appointment, reception claimed otherwise but the two did not talk to each other directly and had my wife go up and downstairs conveying the information. Truly bizarre. Wasted our time and again no recognition or apology.

Absolutely do not visit this practise. The receptionist are very rude and not helpful. I had a baby that was sick with a bad cough and I needed to see a doctor and they would not even try to squeeze me in to see someone for 10 minutes. Coldly with no empathy telling me to go the emergency room and wait hours to see a doctor there. The receptionist told me it was “all to hard “ to try to move a patient for me to see them for 10 minutes, her words exactly!! To hard wow.
People that lack empathy should not be working in the care field.

The practice has deteriorated in all aspects over the last while. Experienced and competent doctors have left and have been replaced with a new cadre of doctors, some of whom seem to lack judgement when dealing with patient care. Administration staff regularly fail to communicate with doctors what an appointment is for when made and the doctors then are not prepared for the consultation. Some doctors refuse to provide scripts for regular medication from previous long term doctors who have left or are unavailable. Some doctors run a bureaucratic process when making referrals for long term chronic conditions that require unnecessary return visits - when they are not available anyway. Best to look elsewhere if you want quality, consistent, available and caring health services.
