Around 6 weeks after having COVID, I developed a cough which grew worse over the next 2 months. .I sounded like a seal and would have 50+ coughing fits each day. The cough was so severe, my entire torso was in pain and I had a stabbing pain in my back every single time I coughed. I was too lethargic to do anything physical and would often cry with pain and frustration. I was visiting my GP weekly and was given steroids, antibiotics, 3 different puffers and 2 different codeine cough suppressants. I had a chest X-ray and an MRI, blood and sputum tests which all came back clear yet the cough was getting worse and my mental health was suffering. My doctor apologised for not being able to help me and she referred me to hospital.
I was at my wits end then someone suggested acupuncture. Francesco gave me herbs at my weekly sessions as well as the acupuncture.
At the end of the first week, my cough had reduced in severity and frequency by over 50%. Three more visits have almost stopped it completely. I am now on maintenance to ensure that it doesn’t come back.
In the past, Francesco has performed minor miracles on my joint pain and plantar fasciitis. I can’t explain why I didn’t go directly to him for my current problem. I just never thought of acupuncture for a cough. Now I know better and he will be my first stop if it ever happens again. I have had COVID 4 times and while it wasn’t severe, I was left with a harsh persistent cough each time. However, this one was completely debilitating. I now feel human again and I cannot thank Francesco enough.
Apparently, this is part of Long COVID. If you develop a severe
persistent cough, please contact Francesco immediately. Don’t let it get to the stage mine did. It takes a long time to come back.
