I had a small basel cell carcinoma on the right side of my nose which was treated with radiation. Treatment commenced 13/4/23 and finished 15/5/23 being 21 sessions with Gerry Adams being the Radiation Oncologist. It is 16 months later and my skin is still sore, feels burnt and I can not wear sunscreen as it irritates the area. I can not wear glasses that have plastic frames as this causes the skin to react. I do not recommend this treatment and in hind sight should have opted for the plastic surgeon to excise the carcinoma. None of the literature indicates there may be ongoing issues. My dentist tells me he can no longer extract teeth as I have undergone radiation therapy. This was never mentioned when Dr Adams was interviewing me to advise the benefits of radiation over surgery - for which there was a five month waiting list. I recall Dr Adams saying surgery would leave me with a nice little scar, that radiation could commence the following week and so I opted for radiation.

Thank you to everyone at GenesisCare, from my first visit to the last, they were so positive and show so much personal interest in all of their patients.

Dr Adam was so fantastic he explained everything so well.

The same with the nurses, their explanations just helped the treatment go so smoothly.

But a special thank you to Maisie, who was always happy and being so kind and understanding of my very bad Claustrophobia. Maisie encouraged and kept me calm and informed me all the way thru my treatment. For which I am so grateful.

I had radiotherapy at the Genesis Care a 7 week treatment. When I started my course the staff were so caring and helpful . The course was made so easy for me because the staff mainly young staff were so pleasant and always you were called by your first name ...Everyones course is different and the requirements for the different treatments is different but you were never in trouble if on some days you messed up ..They went out of there way to help and you enjoy the course the best you can. I can't speak more highly of this facility...I drop in every now and then to say hi.

Queensland Labor AND Queensland health HAVE SACKED ALL THE public cardiologists gazetted positions AND GIFTED THEM TO GenisisCare FOR A privatization OF public hospitals ATTEMPT AT A COST OF $505 PER CONSULTATION and no Bulk Billing for Specialists Consultations. the only way to undo this IS Sack GenisisCare and re-advertise the Public Hospital Gazetted Positions and get rid of GenisisCare from the Public System and they had no right to be there, this will restore the Medicare Bulk Billing in all Public Hospitals once GenisisCare is driven back to their rightful place in Private Hospitals. Out of touch BBH and WBHHS highly paid Executives thought this ""user pays" system like the USA has is more fair to everyone, they make $300k to $500k a year, I make less than $30k on a Pension and say they are out of touch.

I have been refused 10 referrals for Cardiology Specialists Consultations in Bundaberg Public Hospital so far since my failed open heart surgery in mid 2019 and always "an excuse" from GenisisCare that my consultation does not fit into guidelines (contract) with the Public Hospitals to provide that BULK BILLABLE service? "I NEVER ASKED TO BE BULK BILLED", SIMPLY TO GET THE REVIEW MY HEART SURGEON REFERRED ME FOR AFTER A FAILED CABG X 4?". They are all just consumed by refusing Medicare and getting cash payments from the weakest, poorest and most vulnerable in Bundaberg, they even offer finance to the poorest and most vulnerable who should OT borrow from anyone, but when your life is held in ransom? you think "I will die if I dont borrow", and the weak, "just comply" with the charlatans

BBH/WBHHS/Queensland Labor and GenisisCare has done away with Medicare Bulk Billing for Specialist Consultations in PUBLIC HOSPITALS. With gazetted positions there was no cash register or eftpos station in BBH until GenisisCare snuck in under radar. This is an abomination and borders on the culling of heart disease patients like me and because GenisisCare is Private, Queensland Health leaves the dirty work to them and believe they have clean hands in my soon to be death.

I had a Bulk Billed Echo-cardiogram done at Bundaberg Base Hospital which was barely readable. Although they say they are partners with BBH to replace the previously employed and Gazetted Cardiologist position, they only provide some Services for Public Patients and you either pay $395.50 (now $505) or are sent to Brisbane for Cardiology. Obviously, I needed more than an echo-cardiogram and have been waiting since 2016 to get proper service from GenisisCare who have NOT honoured their contract with Public Patients. They have the complete support of BBH and WBHHS who also do nothing for Public Patients and BBH is just a Transit Centre for Brisbane Specialists, even though GenisisCare has been allocated valuable floor space at BBH (where a proper Public Employed Cardiologist could easily provide ALL the services needed by Public Patients not just a few), then I was asked for $395.50 for necessary Consultations.. These are Four completely competent Cardiologists, the only thing which is broken is their moral compass, and I wonder how they can even find the doorway into BBH. Re: Reply below from GenisisCare, I am still waiting? typical GenisisCare "we dont matter and they dont care" unless we pay $505 for a consultation, we are ignored

I have been for the first study and waited for the second study confirmation, which never happened. I found out the reason for this is because someone made an error and determined that I had did not want to continue with the studies, which I never did. The second study was then arranged which was only then organised and completed some weeks later, at this second study the attending staff informed me that a further diagnosis and recommendation would be arranged with a sleep specialist which again did not happen. When I finally contacted the specialist office myself, they informed me that they did not receive any data about me or were aware I needed this last consultation.

I find there is a major disconnect in Genesis and reply for patients to organize the follow ups, This is pretty disturbing and unprofessional. The studies themselves were well organised.
