We first met Dr. Rees in 2020 during the height of the COVID pandemic, when no other clinics and doctors were accepting new patients. Thankfully, Dr. Rees opened his doors to us, and I can confidently say that we were incredibly fortunate to have him to manage my daughter's very aggressive scoliosis.

Under Dr. Rees' expert care and guidance, my daughter has made remarkable progress. Thanks to his treatment plan and consistent support, she recently “graduated” from her brace and is now able to live a full, active life without the need for surgery.

Dr. Rees’ compassionate approach, combined with his deep expertise, has made all the difference in our daughter’s life. She can now do all the normal things a teenager enjoys, and we are beyond grateful for his dedication and care.

I was fortunate to find Michael and Jeanine early after being diagnosed with scoliosis (47-degree curve). I underwent treatment with the brace for 4 years, during which their exceptional care and genuine, realistic approach were unparalleled. Now, my spine curve measures just over 20 degrees, and wearing the brace feels as routine as putting on teeth retainers at night. Our journey with Dr Michael Rees (Chiropractor) and Ellen McDonald (Physiotherapist) at the Gold Coast Scoliosis Clinic has been the most positive experience we could have ever hoped for. We could not have asked for any other professionals to have guided us through the journey.
Our 16-year-old daughter was diagnosed with Scoliosis in August 2022. Throughout our journey, we were closely monitored by Dr Rees and his advice on what needed to be done to ensure the maximum results for our daughter were perfect. Knowing that surgery was not an option our daughter wanted - opted to wear a back/body brace - she followed all suggestions and professional judgement to the letter! Then we had Dr Rees suggest we see Ellen for the Schroth method of physiotherapy for Scoliosis. Once again, we did exactly as was advised. Yes, wearing the brace was not easy nor the diligence of completing daily exercises at home, but we could call/email at any time to ask for guidance. Dr Rees wrote the most amazing letter to the high school to not only inform them of her scoliosis, but to also ensure the school was able to accommodate her physical and well-being needs. The school responded positively to his professional suggestions.
As stated before…. the scoliosis journey is unique and we all do the best we can with the information we are given. The support we continue to be given by the beautiful team of Dr Rees and Ellen has never wavered and to know that they have been by our side throughout this has been our peace of mind.
So, thank you Dr Rees and Ellen and the absolutely beautiful ladies who are the front desk warriors. It is all of your caring efforts (and our daughter’s determination) that all contribute to making our Gold Coast Scoliosis Clinic experience a positive one.
