Five Stars for My Local IGA St Lucia! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Honestly, I never thought I'd be writing a glowing review for a supermarket, but my local IGA truly deserves it! From the moment you walk in, you can tell this isn't your average grocery store. The aisles are always impeccably clean and well-organized, making it a breeze to find what you need.
But what really sets this IGA apart is the fantastic staff. Every single person I've encountered, from the checkout operators to the deli staff, is genuinely friendly and helpful. They always greet you with a smile and are happy to go the extra mile, whether it's helping you find a specific item or offering cooking suggestions. It's a refreshing change from the often impersonal experience at larger chains.
The product selection is also top-notch. While they stock all the usual brands, IGA really shines when it comes to fresh produce and local products. The fruit and vegetables are always vibrant and fresh, and I love discovering unique, locally sourced goodies that you just can't find anywhere else. Their deli and bakery sections are also excellent, offering delicious ready-made meals and freshly baked treats.
Beyond the great products and service, this IGA just has a wonderful community feel. It feels like a true local hub, and I always leave feeling like I've supported a local business that genuinely cares about its customers.
If you're looking for a supermarket experience that goes beyond the ordinary, look no further than your local IGA. Highly recommended!

Month of visit: Often 2023-2024

This supermarket is very convenient, especially for residents around Saint Lucia, as it is located in a prime place and has several cafes nearby.
The supermarket place itself indeed has a bit higher price compared to Co*, or W***S, but the vibes are also more premium/exclusive I think.

Open 24 hours! I bet residents around here love to stop by either for buying groceries or just window shopping 😊

This shop is in a very good location with street parking. You can get whatever you want and at cheap prices too. There is wheelchair parking and wheelchair accessibility here.

The service is great and I would like to shop here again, though I don't know when next am going to be around this suburb.

Things are way more expensive than they are in coles/woolworth. Staff is racist and discriminate against foreigners. Visited 9th Feb around 19:30 and the cashier guy was very rude to us but was super nice to Australian customers. Very primitive behaviour. Such people should be banned from entering Queensland.

THEY DISCRIMINATED ME AGAINST MY RACE?
I was an international student from Japan and IGA St Lucia was the closest grocery from my apartment. On 14th August 2023, during daily shopping, I was surrounded by several staff members and they took me to a manager. They insisted that I had stolen “many products” on 23rd July 2023. I put the products in a black shoulder bag I had, according to IGA. I asked what they believed I had stolen from them, but “they do not have the information right now because there are too many thefts”.
I asked the manager if I should contact police at the very moment, then they told me to wait until they may contact me. Well, I was panicked so I contacted a lawyer in my university and Robinson Law. Robinson Law contacted IGA St Lucia but IGA didn’t provide any information because they have reported to the police already. So I asked Robinson Law to contact the police this time, but they did not have a report on me.
So basically, they lied to us that they had reported me on shoplifting and issued Notice of Prohibition just because they just didn’t want me to come That’s ridiculous.
Well, if you don’t want Japanese that badly, please just say so. I took it seriously at first and was desperate to solve your misunderstanding because I SURELY DID NOT STEAL ANYTHING.

Usually really great because it's reliably open until 12am every day, and has a pretty decent selection. But after some recent experiences I'd suggest to avoid the deli entirely.

I went to get some shredded chicken and I could see some bacon and half open bagels that were presumably going to be assembled and sold, covered in a bunch of flies and left in the centre, the employees didn't seem to care. I still got my shredded chicken and the next day when I went to use it, there was literally a buzzing fly inside the wrapped bag. Not sure how it survived that ordeal but I would certainly stay away from the deli unless they start caring about food safety.
