I can't recommend Dr Scott highly enough. His preparation for our first consultation was amazing. He had information from my GP, my cardiologist, my ENT specialist -- he had even dug up the results of a sleep test I did 15 years earlier at another hospital! He was very good at explaining sleep test results and answered all my questions. The nursing staff conducting the sleep tests were also great. Some of the receptionist staff were not up to this same standard, but that was a minor irritation. Overall, I believe he wasn't just trying to sell me a CPAP machine -- he was trying to save my life, because leaving my sleep apnoea untreated was a real danger to my heart and brain.

Would have to agree with all the negative comments. I have had the same experience of appointments being cancelled. Yet again today. I last saw him August 2022 and trying to have my yearly appointment which is now 20 months and again on a cancellation list.
I was told today that I don't have a current referral and that is why the appointment needs to be cancelled. I then said I have a on going referral.
He went off and checked and found what I said was correct. Then went on to say that another patient who is more important than me needs the appointment. Nice to be put in a box of importance. I thought all patients were equal and as important as each other. Yet again on a waitlist. Just appalling treatment and certainly made to feel not important!

All the other posts are accurate. The reception and admin staff are extremely rude. Churn and burn approach to everything and all theyre interested in is selling you a machine. I did the sleep test and was informed I had sleep apnea. When I asked if my enlarged tonsils were at play, he was adamant they were not, despite multiple other healthcare providers saying they were likely an issue. I spent the money, tried the machine, with no improvement to my sleep. Ended up having my tonsils removed and lo and behold, my sleep quality improved drastically. The doctor didn't even inspect my tonsils when I flagged this. Avoid this clinic. They are rude and not interested in your well-being.

I was initially sent here after a harrowing incident, suffering with ptsd and ultimately got diagnosed with sleep apnoea. Spent a fortune on appointments and equipment (several thousands of $, possibly above 10k). Was given an appointment a year later & needed a new referral before then. No problem.
A month before my appointment I had an incident where I knocked my machine over and was now unable to use it correctly (was just warm air & extremely difficult to use- like breathing under the bedsheets) called their office and i luckily managed to see a technician. Told me that it's blowing the correct pressure out-which wasn't the issueπŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ.
Anyway, i had an appointment with Dr Scott in 4wks time, ill speak with him. My gp sent the referral direct before said appointment and then 3 days before my appointment with Dr Scott I got a call from reception saying she wanted the referral months prior and THEY had decided to cancel my appointment. Thanks!
It's since been 3 months past my initial appointment, I've physically called in and asked when can I get to see him next, I've rang in, and I get given nothing. Told them I'm unable to use the multi-thousand dollar machine (which is now just an ornamental feature). My gp has since written in to ask why haven't I been given another appointment yet. Still they don't reply to anyone.
If you want to hand over thousands and thousands of hard earned dollars and get treated like this, then go ahead. But I'd strongly recommend go to a different place for your sleep issues.
They start off good, which you expect paying that much for an appointment. But once they decide they've had enough of you (or they've taken enough of your money?) they will leave you high n dry. Is that something you'd want?
Thanks Dr Scotts reception at wesley hospital. Many thousands out of pocket, still have the same sleep problems, and have an expensive ornament, all because you decided to cancel my appointment (using the reason that you wanted a new referral months prior rather than the generally accepted, "before the next appointment") and to disregard me when I've done absolutely nothing wrong. Thanks a bunch πŸ‘Ž

I had horrible daytime sleepiness and was trying to find answers. Dr Scott listened to my concerns and believed me that something was wrong. He did the appropriate tests and while I didn't technically meet the diagnostic criteria, he believed that my symptoms were real and impacting me. I started medications with negative side effects; the staff and Dr Scott were able to get me an urgent appointment and develop a new treatment plan that's been successful. Dr Scott has good bedside manner, he explained the test results and impact on the body, happily answered my questions and was generally very thoughtful and non-dismissive. He was also kind enough to bulk bill me for some of the appointments. I've found the reception staff to be helpful and quick to respond. It's been life changing for me.

The worst experience with a physician in my life! He will take as much money as he can from you and give you nothing. Good luck trying to get any input from him between appointments as well, even if it's an emergency. He is rude and completely unethical and doesn't deserve to practice medicine. I'm shocked that he still has a license to practice.

I am glad I did this sleep test but it was a surprisingly unpleasant experience in some ways. My doc referred me based on a few risk factors. Plus I felt like it was time to give me health a higher priority. Staff were good with making arrangements and I don't doubt the competence of the testing and procedures. The guy who hooked me up was great too - he answered a lot of questions for me. But Dr Scott was awkward to the point of rudeness. He didn't get up or shake hands. He wasn't wearing a mask despite the covid mandate that was current. Every single person was wearing a mask but not him. He didn't seem interested in explaining things before or after. He got some basic information wrong. He told me I probably had sleep apnea, which seemed reasonable, but then when my test came back with none observed, he didn't seem happy about it! And the lady who received me the next day was grumpy.. She didn't introduce herself and seemed angry I'd removed the test rig, saying it could be damaged. But I'd had it on 14 hours by 0530 and it was irritating me in several places, plus would they send fragile stuff home with people? To sleep in? Yeah, nah. They ordered a battery of blood tests, which I did, but they made zero mention then or in the report that I received today and they choose not to bulk-bill them... something the pathology people warned me about said had no good reason at all. Like I said, I don't regret doing the test but I could have done the test without either consultation, just being sent the report saved $AUD 629 (June 2021) after medicare rebates.

I discovered this is a commercial business situated at the hospital. He had a row of masks and machines in his office. I reckon they do legit testing but that he is there to get ongoing customers. I think that is why he was disappointed in my results...

Once again Dr Scott's office need to reschedule. No dramas, but now because of their need to change the appointment, my referral has lapsed.

Now Its up to me and get another referral and new appointment, despite this being booked for 6 months.

So by a situation their office has created, it's me the patient that suffers once again.

Considering the premium rates I'm paying, this isn't good enough.
