Very poor management and an overall lack of professionalism. The reception staff are inefficient and unhelpful, making simple processes frustrating and time-consuming. The doctors don’t seem much better —appointments feel rushed, and there’s a clear lack of thorough care. This clinic desperately needs a professional overhaul to improve both service quality and patient experience.

I have been a patient at UQ Health for several years, and I am consistently impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of the doctors. In my experience, Chinese doctors often have biases and prejudices that lead to misdiagnosis, and they frequently prescribe expensive Chinese medicine that does not work for my body. However, UQ Health doctors prescribe only the necessary medications that fit your specific diagnosis. They also provide valuable advice and referral recommendations.

The psychiatrists and psychologists at UQ Health are highly sought after, and you may need to wait a few months for an appointment. However, making an appointment with other GPs is quick and easy. I also appreciate the kindness of the staff at the front desk.

Overall, UQ Health is a top-notch medical center that I highly recommend for their professional, friendly, and effective medical care.

I was counselling a mental health issue. Dr. Karen Yuen wouldn't prescribe medication but told me to look for help of student support services. But the appointment with student support can make is two weeks later! This clinic doesn't give any help at all!

Due to a severe sore throat, I couldn't find a suitable appointment time online. I decided to try my luck and visit in person to see if there were any available doctors. Since my sore throat prevented me from going directly inside, I rang the bell outside. A receptionist came and said that without an appointment, I couldn't see a doctor. The receptionist had a fierce expression and a bad attitude, making it seem like they wanted to kick me out immediately. I don't understand how someone like that could be in a reception role. Although I haven't been treated at this clinic before, this kind of attitude has already left me extremely disappointed. I would rather spend more money at a private clinic outside to receive better service and treatment.

Although I appreciated the professionalism of the doctor at the clinic and their thorough explanations, I was disappointed by the disrespectful behavior of the receptionist. Despite a sign instructing patients to wait to be called, the receptionist continued chatting, making me feel ignored. Additionally, the Asian lady at the front desk was quite rude. It would greatly improve the overall experience if they considered changing the receptionist or having any improvement.

The receptionists here are the most arrogant and rude people I’ve seen. I’m appalled at the way they treat foreigners. The 2 Asian girls working today were so rude especially to other Asians coming in. An Asian lady came in claiming she had bronchitis, the receptionist rudely asked her about where she had pain and after the lady gestured to where she felt pain, the receptionist rudely remarked “why would you say that [you have bronchitis]” The 2 other receptionists then proceeded to join in with the questioning before she was forced outside to take a covid test.

The doctor I saw was nice but not entirely competent as she missed some important information in my medical records. If you value a good doctors visit genuinely do not visit here.

I do hope that the practise may see these reviews and reconsider their staff as the reputation of UQ clinic is pretty terrible!! It would be nice to have a friendly clinic within UQ we can rely on!

The reception here needs a big wake up call.

1. Absolutely arrogant for no reason. Some of them are nice, but majority have a big power trip.

2. Treating anyone who looks foreign badly. Was sitting for about 30 mins and noticed the difference in behaviour between international students and local students.

3. For some reason they get really upset if you don’t have your student ID. FYI student card issuance are delayed severely by student services.

4. If you clarify anything, they get annoyed.

5. Waited nearly an hour for a vaccine appointment only to find out they didn’t even put me on the queue.

6. My favourite part of the day was when a receptionist was getting payment details over the phone from someone. And she was basically repeating every single digit back, including expiry dates. (Receptionist wearing pink jacket on Monday morning)
