Positives : The gym equipment is good. Great functional area.
Negatives: The entire gym is uncomfortably hot as the air conditioning has not been operational all of January. I raised this concern to the staff at reception to which they said they were aware of this issue. However, they were unsure whether any actions were being taken to repair it. I do hope the a/c gets repaired to ensure the health and well-being of members.

I genuinely like this gym and it is sad to see how far the standards have fallen.

If Google reviews weighted more recent reviews higher, this place would be a 1/5. I have been a member at Goodlife for 15 years and this Ashgrove site used to be fantastic. Over the past 1.5 years now multiple issues have arisen: admin staff (all except one) seem to always be on their phones or talking to each other and never making eye contact or friendly greeting customers. Almost as if they are ‘too cool’ to be getting paid to do the easiest job in the world. The air conditioning for the past month now has been atrocious and hardly working. In addition, (and this issue has somewhat improved) the evenings seem to be an after school day care centre. The standards here have dropped and when there is so much gym venue competition, customers have plenty of options to choose from. Unfortunately complacency doesn’t change unless it’s called out.

i go to this gym multiple times a week and have been for a year now and the machine repairs are incredibly slow or get ignored. the temperature upstairs in the main room is horrific and could definitely cause someone to pass out from the heat and has gotten worse this year. for $26 a week i would expect working aircon in a gym

Goodlife Ashgrove is a decent gym with good equipment and friendly staff. However, as many people have already raised in their review, the AC has been broken since at least mid November now and both levels get unbearably hot. The staff is aware but have made it clear that the relevant people won’t do anything about the problem.

Edit: it seems like the aircon is finally fixed. I have adjusted my review accordingly.

Normally a great gym, the aircon has not been working for a VERY long time. This is extremely dangerous as upstairs gets above 30 degrees and I very nearly passed out with how hot it is!
With how much I’m paying for this gym I would expect it to be fixed within a few weeks, it has been MONTHS!
They have gotten some fans which don’t do anything for the dangerous amount of heat! Please fix it!!!!! I keep seeing people becoming overheated including myself! It is a liability to your customers. The dangerous heat levels with no AC has kept me from coming to the gym.
Myself and many others have asked multiple times when it’s fixed within no answer

Honestly, the equipment is pretty good. However, the place is a furnace in summer to the point I'm sweating before I start working out and it does effect my performance in the gym. Also, most of the barbell collars don't work, which is quite frustrating.

It's my main gym because I live so close to it, but it's ALWAYS busy 🙃 It's a good thing but not when you just want to work out and go home. It takes a little longer to workout than usual.

I have been training at Goodlife on and off for the past ten years, and I find that the facilities are lacking in quality.

For women looking to build glutes, the gym is particularly inadequate, as it lacks essential equipment such as an abductor machine and proper hip thrust stations. Additionally, there are no resistance bands available, and the hip thrust pads are old.

Recently, they invested in new cardio machines, despite the existing ones being perfectly functional. I can’t help but wish that money had been used to upgrade glute-focused equipment instead.

When my membership ends, I will most likely move to a different gym if no abductor or hip thrust machines are introduced. Considering the membership cost, World Gym offers a far superior experience with better equipment and overall value.
