I highly recommend Dr Shannon Sia. She is hands down one of the best dentists I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She has an excellent bedside manner - she’s very attentive and gentle while being extremely skilled with a kind and understanding personality. I cannot recommend seeing her enough. She’s made it possible to enjoy seeing the dentist!

I have seen Dr Lorraine Lim Park for some time now and can't recommend her enough, especially if you're nervous about going to the dentist. I’ve been going here a couple of years and every dentist I’ve seen has been great. I just had some wisdom teeth removed under local by Jungin Park and I have to say as someone who has never even had a filling, he and the staff made me feel really comfortable and I barely even felt the tooth get taken out! I highly recommend, and they always try to give you the best pricing options with private healthcare or not. jungin also organised for me to have an extra consult after my initial removal without charge just to answer a question I had and reassure me, you’re in great hands for you or your family here.

I had approximately ten dental appointments in eight weeks. I kept reporting pain when even eating a rice paper chicken and avocado roll. Only by about the seventh week, one of the dentists decided to do an OPG scan. The result was relayed to me as a crack through the back tooth. By about the eighth week, I had to see the prior practice owner for urgent tooth extraction and abscess treatment. He said that the dentists hadn't picked up the crack was also all the way through the root. I said that the OPG should have been done much earlier. He said words to the effect..."but I thought you were happy when I took your tooth out. You seemed happy. I helped you out." This is the same dentist who I had to ask to let me spit out the puss after he drained the two abscess bubbles as he was about to extract the tooth. I asked if he could please check the neighbouring tooth. He said it was fine. WRONG. The lady dentist, Vanessa, was right and it's in the notes. Tooth 36 was not fine. Note to the practice owner Michael who wrote "your dentition looks stable", after Vanessa had already recorded the issues with tooth 36 (cracked tooth).

Why did it take weeks of appointments and me reporting the pain to three different dentists for an OPG to finally be conducted and misread, according to the prior practice owner? Then receptionist Natalie...phoning me with tone (saved and recorded voice messages on 28 October 2024) because I hadn't picked up the phone early on the morning I had two major abscess bulges full or puss and severe pain...after not sleeping all night until early morning...nice work, team. 0/10

Now, to top it all off, they have Annette who they get their patients to see in a separate location for botox in the jaw, which she lists as 'wrinkle treatment' on all documentation. I've asked her why not list it as the dental treatment for my jaw? No reply. She charged me $550 for two injections in the jaw in the first treatment and said she'd do a complimentary top up after three weeks if it didn't take affect. It didn't. She topped me up then said "you know there is a fee for that today" (now refunded).

I've spoken to the Ekera Pty Ltd Dr Anthony (Tony G Coulepis), who last Thursday said he would refund me my out of pocket, then didn't and then also did not communicate so, until I chased him up this afternoon. Last Thursday, he asked that if they "help me," I could then remove this negative Google review.

Today, at 3:15pm AEST, I phoned him after no refund, and he said he would email me this afternoon to say the insurer will take over. Guess what?! No email and it's bed time in Melbourne. I don't want to lose more teeth. I don't want more stories from this network. My final comments in this review: You're as good as your word.

3 November, Avenue's Dr Michael Thorpe BDSc Qld (Hons) wrote "your dentition looks stable", after the smart female dentist Vanessa had already noted a crack in tooth 36 on 11/09/2024. Excellent observation Michael and backed by your former practice owner 'Peter Allen' who extracted the neighbouring tooth, noting "you were about to get very sick"...unpacking that one with your insurance company. Very nice of Peter to pop the two puss bubbles and for me to actually have to ask to be able to spit before he was about to extract the tooth. Excellent bed-side manner.

Today, an independent expert dental review revealed two teeth with bruised appearance, like a bad apple had been missed and now require treatment. Two teeth need fissure treatment and one needs a crown. Epic fail!

"Just send me a legal “letter-of-demand” from your lawyer, with your claim and paperwork, so that we know that you are serious, and then our solicitor will respond as lawyers do and not respond to requests from patients (Ie legal protocol), which you should be aware of. Myself and my 4 children (19, 17, 11, 8) have been attending Avenues Family Dental for 3yrs. We find the staff friendly and professional. My 8yr old daughter has special needs and alot of dentist would refer a child especially one with special needs to a specialist but Dr Vanessa was happy to see her and with the support of the staff we got the job done saving me alot of money. They accept the child medicare and also my healthfund rebate for afew things which also saves me money, cost is so important to my family. I have also seen Dr Annette for my jaw issues, her treatment really helped and her follow-up aftercare was really appreciated. Everything you need is there so no need to travel for X-rays and the lovely ladies at the front desk always have everything ready and organised for quick and easy payment process. If you are looking for a new friendly and affordable dentist I highly recommend The Avenue's Family Dental.

Michael and his team are amazing!
They have looked after my mum and I for years at other practices and have just been great. Front desk are always lovely and have been very friendly and helpful to work with when enquiring about quotes and new procedures. I sent my partner in to get his Twisted tooth looked at and Dr Michael was able to help very quickly and help coming to the rescue with a solution.

I appreciate the care that the team take with us all considering that the dentist can be a scary place so there’s no need to worry about having issue with Dr Michael or the team

I was beautifully looked after by Dr Joanne Mattner, who along with the team at the Avenues Family Dental have been providing exceptional care for the past 10 years I've been visiting. Health insurance covers most things, but more important than price is that you really do feel cared for and confident after visiting!
