Dr Terri-Lynne is passionate about how metabolism affects us; and while her main focus is on weight management, she also cares about mental health and wellbeing, lifestyle and co-morbid concerns. Dr Terri-Lynne always makes me feel comfortable, and explains things thoroughly to me. She is patient and demonstrates incredible kindness and compassion. A special mention should also go to Geraldine, her lovely and thoroughly engaging receptionist.

When I went on the Lifestyle Metabolic website, read the information provided to future patients, and saw this clinic was opening elsewhere, I had to give a review because the claims on the website do not match my experience at all. I saw Terri-Lynne within a GP clinic. If I could give 0 stars I would. I was referred to Dr Terri-lynne by my GP for nutrition and lifestyle goals, such as eating optimally for my body and opinions and testing for my metabolism after having anorexia and being on different medications. This matches all the claims on the website but then I was prescribed Ozempic during our second appointment. I’m not obese, I meet none of the TGA indications or clinical criteria for Ozempic, I also have prior health conditions that could have been unfavourably impacted whilst on this medication.

The first appointment was great. Terri-lynne seemed very understanding of my situation and wanted to do more investigations. She ruled out medication altogether as I met none of the criteria and made me feel hopeful about making lifestyle changes.

The second appointment was rushed, and she didn't seem to have any memory of who I was. I was told the only way I could progress was through the use of Ozempic and that I may need to be on it for the rest of my life.

She seemed frustrated when I said there was no way I was going on Ozempic and questioned me as to why I did not want to go on it. I told her I had seen the 60 minutes story about the number of deaths due to ozempic and she laughed this off as the media hyping things up. I was then given a brochure on weight gain and obesity to take home which is completely at odds with what was discussed in the first appointment. I felt offended to say the least, considering my BMI is not in the obese range, and especially after my history of anorexia.

I left feeling hopeless and disgusted in myself and wondering how someone who had a previous diagnosis of anorexia and still struggles with eating disorder thoughts could be prescribed Ozempic as the answer so quickly when Terri-Lynne claims a holistic approach to a variety of individuals and their presenting issues and much more.

RESPONSE TO REPLY: Hi Terri-Lynne, that’s great that you’d like to take my concerns seriously but there’s no way of contacting your practice apart from the 1300 number. I raised the concerns with the GP clinic I saw you at, and they have taken it seriously from their perspective. However I see no value in raising this further with you directly as the appointment was horrible I don’t particularly want to see you again. You might remember me but also you might not considering I’ve never returned to see you. I made this review to simply inform future clients of your new clinic that this was my experience which was not good at all and goes against everything you claim on your website. I don’t see how you could fix what was done or explain the serious failures that occurred. I think this response is a bit inadequate and just deflects from what was said for the benefit of your clinic.
