After 10 months and visits to multiple optometrists, finally we got some answers. My sons school have raised concerns over his vision for many months, he failed the prep screening, I went to the optometrists that the Queensland Health team recommended, but was told he was colour blind and that was all. I wasn’t convinced on the colour blind issue but they’re the professionals. Another few months past and the teacher speaks to me again. After a conversation with my GP as I was at a loss of what to do, she recommended Aphrodite.

I made an appointment expecting the same result as previous places. But… she spent the time needed to assess my tired 5 year old, finding a range of issues that explains everything. The testing wasn’t just on what he could read from the board, it was also to see how his eyes were behaving. I’m excited to see the improvement for him when his glasses arrive and am also incredibly appreciative of the extensive report that was provided to me to pass on to the school, so they know how they can assist and monitor.

It’s disappointing to read comments where people say “Specsavers say they don’t need glasses”. I don’t believe the testing is even comparable.

My mother couldn't get past the incredibly rude receptionist, rude and abrupt. I would say more, but guy below me has said it all. She never returned and never will. I'm in Victoria writing this review for her. It's very shameful businesses keep staff on like this and operate in a disgusting way. Treat your customers better. If you hate your life so much, maybe get help. This person seemed to project their hate to strangers, and it's not on.

I requested glasses specifically to watch TV at 5-6 metres from optometrist Emily. She recommended an anti glare coating. They are the best. I can read all the subtitles with ease and they also function as night driving glasses, reducing strength of oncoming headlights and glare. Emily is a great practitioner. Very happy. P. Doherty.

After 3 other optometrists, including a sports optometrist, and having been through contacts, prescription glasses etc, we tried Aphrodite Livanes. The testing and thoroughness that was done here was unlike anything else I had experienced. I was treated for dry eyes, and the prescription glasses gave me vision that was crystal clear and no headaches. First time ever. So very, very grateful. If you need a top general or sports (I shoot clay targets) optometrist, look no further.

First time to used this clinic and I wish I never have .. first checked up last February, for the first time not happy with my multi focal eyeglasses, first I received wrong frame which i feedback and decided to keep
It cause I feel to pressure to find what I want again, second they say they forgot to put glare protection so
I need to wait the proper lenses to arrived, third I asked them twice to adjust my frame cause having pressure sore on ear, and still not suits my eyes, it help a bit but still not comfortable to wear it, fourth when I received my new lens again, I've been wearing for 6 weeks and my eyes get blurry than ever, and got headaches from eye strain, easy tired all the time which I never experienced with my previous eyeglasses. Ring them and told them what trouble I have, and did not expect what I heard, they said I was in cheap lens packaged, paid for $439 for my multi focal plus transition , and still cheap for them!! Went back and had a check up again they said will changed my lenses again to suits my eye, when I got my third lens is another failed, the cause without eye glasses to wear for my everyday life specially to work is terrible can't do my 100% , not happy what I experienced from this clinic. My fourth lens received 16 of May, 8 weeks wearing I notice my headaches gone, but my middle vision is not good, can't look straight to computer need always to adjust to get good vision, I decided not to go back to them , I can't let them change again , to many failures, the important my head ache is gone. I can handle blurry eyes. Still can used for distance and reading. I know they trying to do the right thing for me, for changing my lens without charge, but gave me so much trouble until now... which is not very happy... This feedback is only base what I experienced from this clinic. Hope will not happen to any one else with complicated eye sight.

I have been seeing Aphrodite since I was 10yrs old and my eyes have changed a lot over the years. She is always great and patient during my appointments especially when we have to go through the which one is clearer test again and again 🤣 cause I’m not quite sure. The ladies out front are super lovely and always willing to lend a helping hand, whether it is fixing a wobbly arm or that all important styling/fashion advice on frame choice and which one best suits your face. All I know is I won’t be changing optometrist anytime soon 😊

Rather rude and abrupt. I haven't been back there in a long time because of this and today's phone call has confirmed, yet again, that they need a lesson in customer service.
I can tell you this::
1) There was contention over my use of the word reglazing (as per industry terminology) as apposed to your use of "lens replacement". (tension from the get go)
2) When I mentioned that I would like to use Essilor lenses I was quizzed on why I came to you (poor response), not that you would be happy to supply them. (You are suppliers according the Essilor website store locator page) The next business I rang was more than happy to supply them (a suitably appropriate response and who I will go to for my reglazing)
3) The conversation then turned to the hundreds of possible lens options proving again that my desire for Essilor lenses was misplaced and quite apparently to your staff, ill-informed. (it sounds like I'm wrong again)

All of this was said with an air of arrogance in your staff member's voice.. Miss know-it-all knows better than to give me some credit for having done some homework on the subject.

I am confident that you will now be able to find the staff member responsible. Some people just aren't suited to sales roles. Their demeanour/manner just doesn't support it.

Oh and that "Question & Answer" that YOU posted on Google yourself should be taken down. You aren't supposed to ask your own questions. Is Denise your alias?

I have not been to an optometrist for probably 13 years. Decided to go here be cause it is local to me. What a refreshing experience. Igor was a wonderful optometrist. Gave me excellent advice and diagnosis. I did not need reading glasses, I needed distance glasses.

They accommodated me so well and took into consideration my health issues.

Wonderful staff.

I placed my trust in them and it was rewarded.

Yes, the glasses, are expensive. There was no charge for the diagnosis using the probable $500000 of optical diagnostics equipment. There was $300000 of equipment in one room alone. The scans can, from looking at the back of your eyes, diagnose early so many health conditions. They are a gateway to diagnosing your health.

And they have to contend with short notice cancellations of patients. I didn’t have to wait at all because of a prior cancellation

So no complaints about the cost of the glasses. They will serve me well for many years and I saved so much getting what I actually needed than what I thought I needed.

Igor even sent me the scans to my email for my own interest and records.

Therese, you were wonderful with your advice as were all the staff there.

I can highly recommend this optometrist.
