I want to extend a big thank you to Nurse Mariam for taking the time to discuss post-birth advice and recommendations with me. Her care and empathy towards me, as a first-time mum, were truly appreciated.

A massive thank you to Dr. Lewis, who has been my doctor since birth and is now the doctor of my newborn. He is absolutely amazing and trustworthy.

Earlwood medical centre does not give your own x-ray results.
the x-ray is paid by you and the results should be available for you to take to any doctor that you want as many time that you want to ensure it is properly done
Thanks

This is the best medical centre around. The reception staff is so professional. The nurses are wonderful. The doctors sincerely care, are attentive to your issues and stay on top of things. Wait time is reasonable. You can book on the HotDoc app, and you’ll get SMS or email reminders. If you need to cancel or reschedule you can do it from the app, too. It will also let you know when you need to follow up. The Laverty lab techs are also very good. It’s difficult for people to find a good vein on me, and they’ve not had a problem. Parking is easy because there is a public carpark right nearby. This ticks all the boxes and is a shining example of how excellent Australian health care can be.

Been to a few doctors here over the years - appointments are almost never on time and it can be a bit chaotic at times BUT Dr Joshua Farrell was fantastic. I'll be going back to see him. Great bedside manner and very thorough. Thank you. Hopefully I've found a GP that I can stick with for a few years.

I have been very disappointed with this clinic. I used to go there originally to see Professor Lim, who is a good doctor. Like most good doctors, its hard to find bookings for him. With his regular patients, he tells them sometimes to double book with if you really need to see him. I tried this for a bit, and while Professor Lim was great, the receptionists made this difficult so in the end I started seeing other doctors. I tried to find a consistent doctor there for years, but its really hard to do that. In the end, when I finally thought I found one, she left and then I ended up moving clinics. It was getting hard to find appointments in general at Earlwood Medical Centre, so I found one closer to where I now lived. I had some results that went to Earlwood Medical Centre and I tried to get them sent to my new clinic and they made in near impossible. The first time I called they said that they have too many faxes so I should just ask for it over the phone. Then somehow they found the fax and even though it was an ultrasound that I requested, they said that because full patient records cannot be sent without payment, that's why they never sent the ultrasound. Which is confusing, because first they said they don't go through their faxes (which is concerning in itself) and then that they refused to send results but no one actually made the effort to tell me the reason or what I could do about it. So I asked and they explained they can send the ultrasound and patient history, but not full records without a cost. So I asked for the ultrasound and patient history to be sent, but if they could make an exception for the full record history with payment given I really did try to make it work with the clinic but for reasons above it became impossible. They said they'll send the ultrasound and patient history, and get back to me about the full records. Next day the practice manager called and said pretty much the same thing as the receptionist, but she will send the ultrasound and patient history. I was a bit annoyed because the health record query shouldn't have held up the other information and the receptionist had said she would send it through. Two days later, I called to check they'd sent it and a new receptionist said that they cannot send it because there's a fee. So I repeated everything again and I told her I was confused what the fee has to do with the ultrasound and patient history, because this is inconsistent. I also explained that on two occasions someone had said they would already have sent the results. She said she could look into the ultrasound and patient history and after two minutes (I assume to speak to another colleague or practice manager to check) she said she can send it and would do it now. So off course I lost trust at this point. I called the other clinic, they said they still hadn't received anything. So I asked the new clinic to call because they had previously said they would help if I got stuck. The new clinic called, and then the receptionist said again they can't do this because there is a cost. The receptionist at the new clinic said to call them back. So I did and I got through to a new receptionist that was able to see that it was indeed sent. As for the full records, they didn't budge on this which is fine. But when I followed up with the practice manager who said she would get back to me didn't even have the respect to talk to me and got one of her staff to tell me its not possible with no reference to my specific circumstances. It was still computer says no. In amongst all of this I also found out that they were offering all patients for Dr Sandra (the doctor that left the clinic) to Dr Shannon. So that could have been my alternative. So another piece of information that they failed to share. All in all, the doctors there are generally good. But it doesn't really matter if you have incompetent and uncaring receptionists and practice managers that seem to get a kick from making your life difficult.

The GP I’ve been seeing for a few years has gotten very lazy. Honestly my pharmacist gave me more information today about an ongoing problem than she does.

Usually I am happy with th centre and don't take things negatively as everyone is in pain. As I am today, testing positive for covid. I called to enquire a medical certificate for work. Leaving me gob smacked being asked to come in to for an appointment. Again, saying you want me to come in and I have covid. She didn't understand my enquiry, placing me on hold to ask another colleague.. yes, make an appointment if you want a medical certificate
For the 3rd time. In plain English replied. No, I can not come in with covid and I am asking how do I get a medical certificate. .. quite simply placed on hd again. In frustration I hung up. Called a back up Dr, who has emailed me a medical certificate. I'm very shocked by such a simple request.
She simply didn't wait for me to explain my situation and kept interrupting me as I spoke 2 simple sentences.
